About Turing Tap
Turing Tap is a pub in Manchester at 421-423 Oxford Rd, run as a Craft Union local. Screens around the bars show live sport, so match days come with a screen in view. The drinks list includes guest IPAs alongside a selection of other beers, and cocktails are sold on a 2-for-1 deal. The kitchen runs a weekly wings day, when chicken wings are offered at a special deal. The pub sits near the Academy, which makes it a place for food and drinks before a gig. Buses stop practically outside.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often point to the cocktails, especially the 2-for-1 deal that runs all day and makes the pub feel cheap. Close behind are the chicken wings on Wednesday wings day, described as crispy outside and soft inside, along with a pizza called lush. Drinks get steady praise too, from a pint of Timothy Taylor's Landlord to guest IPAs, and many mention friendly staff, a good atmosphere and plenty of screens for live sport. Food draws mixed reactions. One reviewer found the taco bowl mostly sauce, while another liked the Biscoff dessert, and a couple say their meal wasn't brilliant or the portions were small. Service is not uniformly warm: one group found staff a little grumpy and unfamiliar with cocktails listed on the menu. One reviewer found the upstairs boiling. Two gig-goers were let down on food, one noting the free drinks with food deals end at 4pm though the menu doesn't say so, the other heading to the McDonald's next door because Google advertised food the pub wasn't serving.

“Very reasonably priced pub, friendly service, plenty of seating to watch sport on the many screens located around the bars. I had a pint of Timothy Taylor’s Landlord ale, £at £3.60 a pint, in May 2026 superb value. A must go for anyone trying to survive on the state pension that wants a night out now and again. Plenty of buses stop practically outside the pub.”

“Lots of students but good atmosphere and very cheap drinks. Great for watching sport”

“Good size bar with good choice of drinks and plays live sports. Went before a gig at Academy for food and drinks but ended up going to Maccies next door as Google advertises they do food but they do not.”

“Thomas was a lovely server, very polite and nice to me and my grandson. Only poor note is that the upstairs was boiling - other than that 5 stars!”

“This place should be way busier than it is! The food is fantastic, the cocktails, even better. The staff are wonderful as well. Had such a good time our first visit that we came back the next day for a repeat dinner and drinks before I leave Manchester tomorrow.”
