The Windmill is a pub on Hulme Road in Manchester, part of the Stonehouse family and set up as a child-friendly place for family meals. Customer Review Summary
Reviewers mostly come for the service and the friendly team, with several describing staff who go out of their way, a manager who had the kitchen cook for a late party, and a waitress who handled every drinks request without fuss. Carvery and roast dinners are the most named dish, and opinions split sharply. One delivered roast is called delicious with a huge portion, while another delivery arrived with a spoonful of mash, a few carrots and half a tub of gravy. One dine-in carvery visit around 6pm drew complaints of dried-up turkey, crumbs of beef, overcooked potatoes and dry veg, with inattentive staff standing idle. A takeaway breakfast earns praise for its sausages, though one regular was disappointed to be handed a sweet brioche bun without warning. Others mention fair prices, a good atmosphere for watching the England game, and a valentines meal where the management went the extra mile. Reviewers close on a kitchen team who cooked a cracking meal and made them laugh.

“I’m absolutely livid. . I have just paid nearly £20 for a LARGE carvery to be delivered, as I’m really not well and can’t get out the house. . I literally got a table spoon of mash, about 4 carrots and about 7 pieces of swede, one piece of cauliflower and half, yes HALF a tub of gravy. . It’s definitely not worth the money! I will be uploading the photos and emailing them”

“Food was excellent and it was the perfect pub to watch the England game in! Great selection of drinks that were served to us by a lovely waitress called Brodie, for whom no requests were any trouble. Would 100% recommend for a weekend visit!”

“Great pub, good atmosphere and really nice food. Deshawn was brilliant all night — proper friendly, attentive, and had great manners. Ryan the chef was a lovely lad too, not completely all there in the head bless him, but gave us a laugh and cooked a cracking meal. Will definitely be back.”
