About Halfway House
Halfway House is a Holt's pub at 435 Manchester Rd in Manchester, serving Joseph Holt beers and ales. Gin and rum cocktails are on offer for those who want something other than a pint. The pub was recently refurbished and has plenty of seats, with a big TV and several other screens showing football and other sports. A landlord and landlady run it, and it opens daily. Dogs are welcome. A tram stop sits across the road, on the route into Manchester city centre.

Customer Review Summary
Holt's beer is the main draw at this traditional Manchester pub. Reviewers praise a decent pint that is crystal clear and served at the perfect temperature, along with a good range of Holt's ales. Close behind is the friendly welcome from the staff, the landlord and landlady, and the regulars, with several noting cheap beers and ales. Reviewers also mention a recent refurbishment that kept the friendly atmosphere, gin and rum cocktails, a beer garden with heaters, and big screens for the football. The pub is described as clean, with plenty of seats. On the downside, one first-time visitor found service a little slow around 6pm, when a single person was working a fairly busy bar, and another noted that one or two customers had enjoyed a drink or two too many. Several are long-standing regulars, and one visitor comes over from Ireland on family trips and says the atmosphere is as good as ever. One reviewer points out the tram stop across the road for heading into the city centre after a few pints.

“Joseph Holt pub on the way to Manchester. Great selection of Holt's and the staff and regulars are friendly. I always pop in on my way to Manchester if time permits. The landlord keeps a proper decent pint of Holt's. Crystal clear and perfect temperature.”

“Traditional boozer, Holts beer so not expensive. Friendly staff and customers (although one or two of the clientele may have enjoyed a drink or two too many when I was there!) All in all, recommend.”

“Friendly staff, cheap beers and ales. Welcoming landlord and landlady. Plenty of screens for the football. Happy to call this my local”

“First time in here and to be fair hard to judge but will be honest. The service was a little slow but the lady behind the bar was on her own and at about 6pm it was fairly bus.y. The pub looked clean, tidy and well presented and most important of all the beer was really nice. Would I go back yes, would I recommend yes.”
