About The Victoria
The Victoria is a bar at 438 Wilmslow Road in Withington, Manchester, where guests can bring their own food and eat it alongside a pint. The bar pours a full range of Hydes real ales, and Guinness is also served. Inside, the layout splits into several separate areas, and multiple TVs show different sports at once, so a match can be followed in more than one spot. Dart boards are set up for anyone who wants a game, and quiz nights are part of the schedule. A DJ plays on some occasions.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often praise the beer, especially well-kept real ales and the full range of Hydes beers, which one reviewer credits to the manager's championing of real ale. Close behind are the friendly, welcoming staff and a lively yet relaxed atmosphere, with a mix of locals and students and fair prices. One reviewer was told the Guinness is a good pint. Quiz nights and dart boards earn praise, and the layout splits into several areas plus a courtyard out back, so drinkers can pick their noise level. Lots of TVs show different sports at once, though one reviewer finds a few too many. The complaints are specific. One drinker found the Helles lager revolting and felt physically ill, then found a premium lager almost as bad. Another met the rudest bartender they had ever faced. One reviewer demolished about three packs of scampi fries, but noted the pork scratchings had run out.

“Went for what was meant to be a lovely drink with my fiancé. Turns out thats not possible in this place. Possibly the rudest member of staff ive ever faced behind a bar. Time to name and shame imagen.”

“I ordered the Helles lager, a drink I’ve had in other pubs in the area and always found to be quite enjoyable. At the Vic, this pint was absolutely revolting and made me feel physically ill. I assumed I’d just got the end of a bad keg, but my next pint was a premium brand lager, and this was almost equally as disgusting. We will not be returning.”
