About The Head of Steam Didsbury
The Head of Steam Didsbury is a pub at 653 Wilmslow Rd in Manchester, with a pool table and live music alongside a 103-dish menu. The food side includes a burger range, with the Buttermilk Chicken & Nduja Burger and the Bbq Brisket Burger among the options, and a Sunday roast is on the menu too. Drinks lean on beer. Camerons beers from its own brewery sit next to craft beers and guest ales from other breweries, and a wine selection runs alongside them. Groups who come for a game of pool or a live set have a large interior to spread out in, and an indie music soundtrack plays through it.

Customer Review Summary
Food draws the most praise at this Didsbury pub, with reviewers singling out the buffalo wings and bbq pulled pork fries, which one regular orders on nearly every weekly visit. Close behind are the steak focaccia sandwich with chips, praised for its herb-seasoned bread and big portion, and the Sunday roast, described as delicious. Reviewers also mention a wide choice of drinks, including craft ales, a Sticky Toffee Porter, wine and canned sours, along with a pool table and a pot of tea. Staff come up repeatedly as friendly, chatty and kind, and a few call the prices reasonable. The caveats are minor: one reviewer found the room quiet and echoey and wanted the music louder, another noted some worn seats, and a third disliked the cranberry sauce on the vegan wellington while calling it a matter of taste. One diner says the food arrived quickly and blew them away.

“Ended up wandering in as it seemed rather quiet on a Saturday early afternoon back in December, we’ve been going back nearly every week ever since! The buffalo wings are amazing, I hate eating meat on the bone but I always make an exception for them. The bbq pulled pork fries are a must. We don’t tend to eat the same item when going out but we can’t help ourselves whenever we visit. Never had an issue with the food, atmosphere or staff.”

“The pubs is lovely and clean with amazing service provided. They have a pool table and some wonderful beers. For me, the standout was the menu. The food was incredible. Didn't take long at all and when it came it blew me away.”
