Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often return to the lively but comfortable atmosphere, with classic pub charm that several call welcoming and friendly. Beer variety draws repeated praise, and diners name a well-cooked steak, a hearty pie, nibbles for sharing and a big breakfast, with the food often called delicious and affordable. Bar staff earn credit for quick, cheerful service, one barman for keeping the room laughing. The complaints centre on busy periods and upkeep. One Saturday diner who ordered a starter and main by QR code got nothing until asking, then had the food dropped on the table with a brief sorry, and found it lacking flavour. Another says everything they ordered was spicy. One otherwise positive reviewer notes tables left full of used glasses and plates, and dining area sofas too low for comfortable eating. One lunch visitor describes a spacious, less rowdy room where the family was not rushed through a father's 80th birthday meal and a special booking request was honoured.

“Great pub with a convenient location. A wide choice of food. Order via the app and delivered to your table. Food was well presented and delicious. Table cleanliness could do with improvement. Tables were sticky and often full of glasses and plates from previous diners. Staff need reminding they need to be cleared promptly and wiped down with a damp cloth and reset for next guest. Laziness summed up by a member of staff having their dinner at a table and then leaving the plate for someone else to clear. Only 1 server seemed to take any pride in her work by clearing and tidying tables. Also some tables in dining area have low sofas as seating, too low for comfortable eating. Sofas and low comfy chairs would be better in the front lounge area replaced by chairs in the rear dining area. Overall a nice place to eat and drink. Just a little more attention to detail would make it great.”

“Only if there is nothing else available. Make sure you check what you order as everything is spicy”

“I recently visited Piccadilly Tavern and had a fantastic experience. The pub has a great atmosphere — lively but comfortable, with that classic British pub charm. The drinks selection is solid, and the food is excellent — hearty portions and very well-prepared. What really stood out was the service: Andrew was incredibly helpful, attentive, and made the whole visit smooth and enjoyable. It’s rare to find such friendly and efficient staff these days! Overall, Piccadilly Tavern is a welcoming spot with great food, drinks, and service. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Manchester.”

“had such a great experience at Piccadilly Tavern-definitely one of the highlights of my time out. The atmosphere was lively without being overwhelming, and the whole place just had a really welcoming, relaxed vibe that made it easy to settle in and enjoy the night. A big part of what made it so memorable was Andy, the barman. He’s not only brilliant at his job, but genuinely hilarious too. From the moment we walked up to the bar, he had everyone laughing while still keeping things running smoothly and efficiently. It’s not easy to balance being entertaining and professional, but Andy absolutely nails it. Drinks were served quickly, made perfectly, and his energy really lifted the whole experience.”
