Quick info
About Waldorf Manchester
Waldorf Manchester is a pub in Manchester on Gore St, a short walk from Piccadilly Station. Upstairs, a function room with its own private bar, tables and chairs, and four HD screens can be hired for groups of up to 60 who want to watch the big game together. The bar pours Landlord on cask alongside a wider range of draught and cask ales, and it keeps a selection of gin and other spirits. The pub grub menu runs to fish and chips and a loaded jacket potato. A separate downstairs room sits below the function space, and live sport shows on the screens throughout the pub.

Customer Review Summary
Fish and chips is the dish reviewers name most, called delicious and crispy by several, with a loaded jacket potato and a chicken sub also getting praise. Football on the screens keeps the pub lively, and diners describe a warm, friendly welcome from staff and locals. The draught and cask range gets repeated mentions, including a good pint of Landlord, plus a strong gin selection. The upstairs function room is singled out by one group of 35 for a stag do, with a private bar, big TVs and drinks kept full throughout. The main caveat is food quality: one reviewer found the large fish and chips short on quality and quantity, calling the battered sausage the highlight, and another guessed the food was probably microwaved. The same upstairs space was described as intensely bright. One diner who ate dinner there on each of three nights in Manchester closed out the praise by calling the staff super.

“Decent pub with good beer selection. Food was not bad for a pub though probably microwaved.Lively because of football.”

“Had a great time over the weekend at The Waldorf. Was part of a group of 35. We booked the upstairs function room for a stag do. It was one of the highlights of the weekend. We were really well looked after firstly by Amber who was super accommodating to our group. She was on her own looking after all of us behind the private bar upstairs which is part of the function room. She did an amazing job and kept us with full drinks the whole time. And then Mia came after and also was really good to us. The room itself was perfect with the bar situated in the corner and tables and chairs for everyone to sit down at. There were big TVs up there as well which we could watch the sport on. It was incredibly reasonably priced. We had a £1000 bar tab set up which didn’t run out in 4 hours for all 35 of us. Would seriously recommend to any big groups or stag dos. Was perfect for what we wanted. Great privacy and great hosts.”

“We were unexpectedly in Manchester for the game. Two girls wanting to stay up and watch the football England v Mexico. We had food, a great table with a brilliant view of a screen, the locals were friendly and the staff couldn't do enough to make sure we were looked after. The Waldorf made sure that we had an additional fun memory we weren't expecting for a trip to see Def Leppard. They even had a playlist of some of the less well remembered (for good reason!) football anthems from the Euros and World Cups over the year. If you are looking for somewhere that serves good pub grub, has great views of screens and friendly accommodating staff and locals, as well as a traditional back street boozer - go to The Waldorf. 2 min walk from The Premier Inn. Thanks so much for making it a memorable night.”

“The food here never disappoints. I’ve been here plenty of times as it’s right next door. Staff are lovely, the pub is kept in a good and clean condition, never regretted a single meal here. The location is a bit hidden but it’s always lively”
