Customer Review Summary
Most reviewers come for the location, an old fashioned pub just across the road from Piccadilly station with comfortable, quiet en-suite rooms upstairs and a good breakfast. Several call the bar staff friendly and polite and the atmosphere very nice, and one visitor stopped in twice over a weekend, once for a quick pint before a train to the airport. Service at the bar is where opinions split. One reviewer found the woman serving extremely rude, and another said a request for a straw with a coke got them called weird. A group of seven was told each person had to buy a pint to stay despite already buying five drinks, and different people were charged different amounts for the same drink. Booking problems also recur. One guest got a voice message saying they had to cancel because of a double booking, and another arrived at 21:00 to a closed pub where nobody answered the bell or the phone. A wheelchair user found the room fully accessible, with a fridge and fresh milk, and staff brought their breakfast order to them.

“Made a booking on booking.com, a few days later they leave a voice message to say I have to cancel because they’ve double booked. Asked of the process on how they decide who cancels and hardly gave an explanation of to why I had to cancel. 1 why should I have to go through the process to cancel it myself. 2 why have your rooms available online if you don’t have them (there were multiple rooms available). Not happy.”

“came in for a drink as a smal group, immediately got told that each of us had to buy a pint to be able to stay (Even though we had already bought 5 drinks, there was 7 of us) with one of them being pressured into it. Not a single one of us were checked on our ID's though we are all 18+, there are some of us that don't look it. Also different people were charged different amounts for the same drink.”

“Had a booking here for 2 nights from 22nd-24th of June 2026. After getting delays on my train journey, finally arrived outside the hotel/pub at 21:00 on the 22nd of July, only to be going around in circles looking for a reception to a closed pub. There was a door that says ring the bell or call for hotel only. Rang them several times and tried banging the door, but no one answered. I was outside this pub-hotel for an hour. Left them a voicemail to call me back, emailed them, sent an instagram direct message and tried calling their instagram business account too, but nothing. It says check in is until 10:00pm. I went to hostel next door, and they said it should be open or at least someone should be picking up my calls. I had to book for another hotel nearby! Very bad service! Avoid this place! In addition to the above, I tried phoning again the next morning. No answer. Tried again in the PM, finally someone picked up saying that she’s busy and doesn’t have the phone on her all the time. She said when it’s quiet, they tend to leave early. But if you’re a business, you should answer calls, wait til they check in before you leave or at least call them back when they left a voicemail. She also claimed an email was sent to her and she can’t confirm who it’s from when I asked. The email states that I’m not coming. But she knows the booking hasn’t been cancelled. It’s all so unprofessional.”

“I'm a wheelchair user and it's difficult to find a room that is totally accessible, but this one is. Even has a fridge and fresh milk! The welcome is lovely and staff very helpful. The food is good, bit pricey but thats everywhere now. I stayed alone for 7 nights and could manage to get most places in hotel apart from breakfast but staff always brought me my order. I will be back...if they let me!”
