Quick info
About City Road Inn
City Road Inn is a pub in Manchester at 14 Albion St, near Oxford Road, Deansgate and Manchester Central. The landlady runs the pub herself, pours the Guinness and chats with customers across the bar, so a pint comes with conversation. Madri is also available, though real ales are not always on. The kitchen serves pies and pub grub from Pieminster, and there is no vegan pie option. Sport plays on screens throughout, including a big screen for major fixtures. A pool table has been added for those who want a game alongside their drink.

Customer Review Summary
Guinness is the most frequent draw, with one regular bringing work clients and suppliers here for it in the city centre and another calling it tasty. Close behind is sport: reviewers describe plenty of seats and screens, football on, and a lively buzz around it. The pies and snacks are praised as quality pub grub, and a recently added pool table is called top class. Reviewers repeatedly single out the landlady and bar staff as friendly, quick to serve and happy to chat, and drinks are described as very reasonably priced. The drawbacks are modest but specific: the menu is limited, there are no vegan pie options, and one visitor found no real ales on and settled for a Madri. Another arrived just after midday to a very quiet room. One regular recalls the landlady putting their local derby on the big screen during a weekend visit.

“We had a great time with some lads we met at this pub. The bartender named Alfie was an outstanding guy, he absolutely deserves the most and he made our experience as foreigners as fun as possible. He was friendly and a great guy. Highly Recommended”

“Popped in on the way home from work for a couple of casual ones to watch the football. Proper boozer, very lively with a great buzz about the place. The staff were in great form and very quick to serve. Plenty of seats and screens and if you're feeling peckish mid-sesh, you can grab a pie. Guinness was tasty. The ladies toilets were immaculate. All in all, a very enjoyable experience. I'll be back again soon no doubt! 😊”

“great place for pints around oxford road/deansgate - really good for watching sports. the lady behind the bar provided the loveliest warmest service EVER!!! didn’t catch her name but she is a true gem. only slight letdowns are that there are no vegan pie options, and there is an issue with flies. easy to overcome considering the excellent service, though.”
