  “Fantastic place – one staff member seriously spoiled the final impression We had a wonderful stay at the Legh Arms in Prestbury. Beautiful traditional building, full of character, excellent food and a genuinely British atmosphere. The staff were friendly, attentive and welcoming. Everything about the stay itself easily deserved five stars. Unfortunately, there was one very unpleasant exception. When leaving, I was already almost completely out of the narrow single-lane driveway when a bearded member of staff, apparently a waiter, drove straight in towards me in a rather battered white Volkswagen instead of simply waiting a few seconds for me to leave. I had to reverse all the way back. I then stopped, got out and spoke to him at his car window. His argument was that, now that he had driven in, he could not reverse because there was a road behind him. But that completely misses the point: he should have looked first, seen that a guest was already leaving, and waited before entering. His attitude during that conversation was dismissive, unapologetic and extremely poor behaviour towards a guest. The complete lack of consideration or understanding is exactly why I am mentioning this incident here. Apart from this, the Legh Arms was absolutely excellent and genuinely deserved five stars. I would happily change my rating to five stars if management addresses this incident and responds to this review confirming that this kind of behaviour towards guests will not happen again.”

  “Had a one night stay for my wife's birthday... The room was lovely, comfortable bed, no complaints there. The staff were helpful and friendly... a special mention for Alfie. We had lunch which was lovely but did not have dinner. The thing that let the Legh down was the breakfast, shown to our table and told cereals, orange juice and coffee is on this table... choice of four cereals. Had to ask for orange juice jug empty, had to ask for coffee only to be told it will be a while as it has to filter!!, had to ask for sugar and spoons.. not good.”

  “What a fantastic experience! Every dish, from the Chicken Liver Parfait to the Salted Caramel Profiterole Sundae, was exceptional in taste and presentation, all while being generous in portion. The attentive service and promptness made for a perfect dining atmosphere on a Sunday. Highly recommended!”

  “This is a great place to stay. The village is pretty and people pleasant and welcoming.The Legh Arms staff are great, they are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are nicely decorated and very clean. The beds are comfortable and spacious. There was lots of choice for in-room free beverages. We did however stay during the really hot weather and the fan that was in the room wasn’t really big enough to make much effect. I would also recommend that you take a plug as there aren’t any USB points in the room to charge a mobile device directly from the USB lead.”

  “My wife and I stayed on a Bed and Breakfast basis on Sunday 5th July 2026. The room was spacious and very clean.The car parking was free. The atmosphere in the Pub was first class. The staff were very efficient and friendly and the breakfast was excellent. We look forward to returning in the not too distance future. Geoffrey Whittaker.”

  “This has to be one of the nicest places I've stayed in. We held our mums 80th birthday family party here. Staff went above and beyond to make our weekend amazing. It was so nice to see John again as he helped us organise this 12 months ago. The pub and surrounding are outstanding and beautiful. Very doggy friendly and can't wait to revisit .”

  “A little disappointed with our visit this evening. The two burgers were great, although they could have done with a few more fries. What let the experience down was that when we tried to order a dessert at 8:50pm, we were told the kitchen had closed at 8:30pm. It would have been nice to have been made aware of this earlier when ordering our mains, especially as the pub website says food served until 9pm.”

  “I had a wonderful stay at this pub and inn in the beautiful village of Prestbury. It is perfectly located—only a 30-minute train ride from Manchester, making it a great escape from the city. The service was top-notch; the staff were consistently attentive, friendly, and went out of their way to be helpful. As for the accommodation, the rooms are very comfortable, cozy, and have a lovely traditional English feel. The food was another highlight! The pub meals were delicious, and the breakfast was a very pleasant way to start the morning. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area!”

  “Had a one night stopover here and we had a "family room" on the ground floor. This was obviously an accessible room and so we were spoiled for space and the bathroom was a wet room with accessible facilities. Nevertheless, the room was very clean and warm, which was welcoming. The pub itself was very nice with a good selection of drinks. We only had a breakfast here which was good as it was cooked to order. The only "buffet" food was cereal or fruit salad. If we're in this area again we would definitely stay if available”

  “Spent one night here on Saturday, January 10th. Excellent service from check-in, through drinks in the Pub with family, and breakfast with all on Sunday morning. The room was well above expectations for a Pub/hotel… generous in size, and extremely well laid out. All the staff were above and beyond… superb! We will definitely be returning, and more than just once! Many thanks all for a lovely stay!”
