About Seabird
Seabird is a seafood restaurant on the 14th floor of The Hoxton in Southwark, London, reached by lift to the top floor. A marble raw bar serves the longest oyster list in London, and terraces overlook the city. The kitchen also cooks lobster rice, grilled Galician octopus and an Ocean Platter of grilled seafood. Cocktails, including spicy margaritas, come alongside the views. Live music and events run on the terrace and in the bar.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often point to the rooftop views over London, especially from the terrace at sunset, and many pair them with cocktails, including spicy margaritas that one reviewer says were the spiciest in London. The food draws praise for the lobster rice, oysters, croquettes, the Ocean Platter grilled selection, tuna ceviche and triple cooked chips, while the burnt basque cheesecake and torrija with ice cream were delicious for another. Service is described as friendly and attentive, including a server who moved one table to the sunshine and another who walked a table through the menu. The recurring complaint is value on the food. One reviewer found the lobster rice mostly rice with only a few pieces of lobster and the wine selection disappointing, another found the whole lobster smaller than expected with sparse sauces and cold mussels, and a third noted slow service at first. One walk-in was turned away on a busy night. A surprise birthday ice cream closed one diner's evening.

“The first time my partner and I visited Seabird we were told they would not have a table for us the rest of the night. We were walk-ins and there was some sort of music event going on, so that’s understandable. But I found it strange that there’s no priority or advantages for guests staying at The Hoxton Southwark. We came back with a reservation a few days later. We asked for a terrace table and we were seated indoors, but our server managed to provide us a table on the terrace for us within minutes. It’s a beautiful view for a summer sunset over dessert and drinks. I can’t comment on the seafood here, but the burnt basque cheesecake and torrija with ice cream were delicious. Overall, Seabird can be pricey and feel like you’re surrounded by influencers that want to be seen but it’s hard to deny the views — if you get one.”

“Beautiful restaurant with amazing views and exceptional service. The staff were genuinely fantastic and the décor is lovely. Unfortunately, the food was a let down and very overpriced. We had the Grilled Galician Octopus and the Lobster Rice. The Lobster Rice was around £110 and was mostly a huge amount of rice with only a few pieces of lobster. For that price, we expected much more. The wine selection was also quite disappointing.Overall, a beautiful place with excellent service, but for me it is much more of a place to enjoy drinks and the views rather than somewhere I would return to for dinner.”

“Amazing experience and food. Our waiter Ben was a sweetheart. He made sure our spicy margs were the spiciest in London. Everyone was super attentive and welcoming. The food was amazing. Great seafood. Cooked to perfection. Thank you so much guys!! See you soon x”

“What a fantastic night we had at Seabird. We were greeted by Abby in the very cool reception and directed to the lift to arrive at the top floor restaurant. The decor is stunning, giving tropical Ibiza vibes. We had a great table with an impressive view over the city. Our waiting staff Gemini and Anastasia were friendly and super efficient, as were all the staff keeping us topped up with water and wine, clearing the table as our food was devoured. We ate oysters, croquettes, gambas, octopus, chorizo, sea bass and the spectacular lobster rice. All of the dishes were delicious. We will definitely return. Thankyou for a very special evening.”

“We had an amazing time here celebrating my birthday. The food was absolutely delicious, and I couldn't fault a thing. A huge thank you to Abi and Serena for their outstanding service, they were so friendly and attentive. The chef and the whole team also went above and beyond to accommodate all our requests, which made the celebration extra special. The rooftop terrace was lovely too. We didn't get to enjoy it as much as we'd have liked because we were in a large group, but we will definitely make the most of it next time. Highly recommend”
