Quick info
About The Seafood Bar
The Seafood Bar is a seafood restaurant at 77 Dean St in London, centred on an open kitchen where the chef shucks oysters. Guests celebrating a birthday receive a free oyster or a limoncello, so the restaurant works well for marking the occasion. Alongside the oysters, the menu includes a Mixed Grill of crustaceans and seafood, which groups often order, and a fruit de mer platter for sharing. The restaurant is open daily. Downstairs, a bar serves cocktails.

Customer Review Summary
Birthday and anniversary meals dominate, and reviewers most often single out the oysters, including a "birthday oyster" brought to the table and Japanese dressed oysters shucked in the open kitchen. Close behind are the scallops, called excellent by two diners, and the mixed grill and fruit de mer platter. Others praise the mussels, the octopus, the monkfish fillet and the watermelon martini, while the bar downstairs earns mentions for its cocktails, music and decor. Service is repeatedly described as attentive and friendly, with servers walking tables through the menu and the manager serving dishes personally for a large group. The criticism is specific. One reviewer found the lobster soup disliked, the salmon and squid in the seafood grill a little soggy, and most dishes underseasoned, and felt the waiter acted as if they weren't spending enough. Another found the lobster in the mixed grill dry and bland, and a third says the dressed crab was crabstick rather than crab meat. One diner closes by noting the staff remembered a special request for a birthday oyster.

“Last night, I celebrated a friend’s birthday at this amazing seafood restaurant, and I can’t recommend it enough! From the moment we arrived, everything was exceptional. The food was simply outstanding—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The Mixed Grill was absolutely incredible, and every single starter we tried was delicious and very generously portioned. A special thank you to Florian, the manager, who made our evening even more memorable. Despite us being a large group, he came to our table with a big smile, personally served some of our dishes, and made sure everyone was well looked after. His genuine hospitality and attention to detail really stood out and made us feel so welcome. After dinner, we headed down to the bar, and I was completely impressed. The atmosphere was fantastic, with beautiful décor, great music, and some of the best cocktails I’ve had in a long time. It was the perfect way to end the evening. This restaurant truly delivers an outstanding dining experience—from the incredible food and excellent service to the wonderful atmosphere. I will definitely be coming back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for an unforgettable meal!”

“⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We just had lunch at The Seafood Bar in Soho, and it was absolutely phenomenal! The mussels were hands down some of the best I’ve ever had—truly incredible. We started with the octopus, and it was outstanding, second only to the best I’ve ever had in Madrid. What made the experience even better was the service. Pasquale was attentive, welcoming, and genuinely made us feel taken care of from start to finish. From the food to the atmosphere to the exceptional hospitality, everything about this place deserves five stars. We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in London!”

“Had a birthday get together with a couple of friends on one of the hottest days of the year. The food and wine was sooooooo darned good. Albariño wine and a superb fruit de mer platter with various sides were amazing. A great chilled and relaxed atmosphere made all the better by Florian who looked after us was so well. He was attentive, kind and really helped us with recommendations. Little touches like my “Happy birthday oyster” and limoncellos were much appreciated and made a big difference to other places in Soho. We shall definitely return and reccomend and I’d loved to try the downstairs too.”

“Came here for a birthday dinner with my partner. The restaurant is very clean and has really fun decor. We ordered the scallops as a starter and they were excellent. We both had the monkfish fillet as a main and loved that too. All the staff very attentive and kind, thank you to our server Ferran! Lily was also so sweet!”
