Quick info
About San Hao
San Hao is a modern Chinese noodle restaurant at 3 Gerrard St in Chinatown, London. Noodles anchor the menu, and the cappuccino spicy chicken noodles bring a chicken noodle dish to the table in a cappuccino-style presentation, which makes the bowl a talking point before the first bite. Another bowl, the 8-hour truffle porcini duck broth noodles, comes with a duck leg on top. Handmade beef dumplings appear among the smaller dishes for anyone who wants something beside the noodles. The drinks list includes a yuzu pear drink.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the cappuccino spicy chicken noodles, a dish several call unusual yet surprisingly good. Close behind are the 8-hour truffle porcini duck broth noodles, described as rich and deep, and the golden roe chilli crab dry-tossed noodles, praised for a savoury kick. The wagyu dan dan noodles and the pickled chilli fish noodles also draw repeat mentions, along with the herbal pork trotter noodle served with a large pork knuckle. Beyond the bowls, diners like the osmanthus plum pork ribs, the juicy handmade beef dumplings and the yuzu pear drink, which one reviewer orders on every visit. Service is described as quick at lunch, friendly and attentive, and several call the bowls generous for the price. No recurring complaint appears in the reviews. One reviewer who came for the cappuccino chicken soup and spicy beef short rib noted that both were really good, and another said the meal made them want to slowly try the entire menu.

“Perfect dining experience at San Hao. The food was incredible, and the "cappuccino" spicy chicken noodles were surprising. Delicious, modern looking, and tasty. The service was quick at peak lunch time and the restaurant in well located and easily recognisable. Overall a 10/10 experience, I'll definitely come back”

“Had a great dining experience at San Hao in London’s Chinatown! I ordered the Dry-Rub Garlic Short Rib and Wagyu Dan Dan, along with a cold beer. Both dishes were full of flavour, especially the rich and delicious Wagyu Dan Dan. A great spot in the heart of Chinatown for anyone looking to enjoy tasty Asian cuisine. Definitely worth a visit!”

“One of my go-to places for dinner after work! I’ve been here quite a few times now and have probably tried most of the menu 😂 My favourites are the pickled chilli fish noodles and the cappuccino noodles – the latter sounds unusual but is actually really good and probably the most unique dish on the menu. Their small plates are also worth trying, especially the osmanthus plum ribs. And I have to mention the Yuzu Pear drink – super refreshing and I order it literally every time I come! Good service, nice atmosphere and very reasonable prices for Chinatown, usually around £15–25pp. A great spot for a casual dinner and catch-up after work. 😊”

“Highly recommend this fusion noodle restaurant !! I have been here twice with my friends and it never disappoints. My favourite would definitely be the onsen egg dry noodle and waygu dandan noodle!!!! If you haven’t tried it yet, please go and check them out. It’s totally worth the money and it’s quite affordable for a big bowl of noodle that only costs less than 13pounds.”

“My companion ordered the Cappuccino Spicy Chicken Noodles and Golden Roe Chilli Crab Noodles, the former was placed in front of me, at the time I didn't know what was ordered nor what to expect and I went in with a spoon :) the chicken was tender, overall it was nice. Out of the two noodle dishes I enjoyed the crab noodles more, very flavourful. We also had some of their dumplings, I was pleasantly surprised because I wasn't expecting a 'non-dim sum specialty place' to have really good dumplings, and each had a good amount of meaty filling too. Another item of note was their yuzu pear drink, very delicious.”
