Customer Review Summary
Roast chicken is the dish reviewers return to most, called succulent and flavourful by one diner and very good by another. The shawarma spiced mushroom and leek pie, the cod with beurre blanc, the pork chop and the Valdeón savory cheesecake are also singled out. Several say the vegetable dishes and sauces are where the kitchen shines, and a few like sharing plates to try a bit of everything. The recurring complaint is noise: one found the music too loud to chat, and another found the talking patrons overwhelming and suggested acoustic panels. Misses are named too, including an aubergine starter lacking flavour, an octopus dish that took longest and was called the weakest, and a beetroot cheesecake one diner did not love. One reviewer found every dish oily and the congee inedible, and another felt the suggested number of dishes meant too many flavours. Service is mostly described as knowledgeable and quick, and one waiter explained the timing of each dish for a table heading to the theatre, then reminded them about the bill at the right moment.

“Staff were quick and attentive, even with a toddler in tow. The shawarma spiced mushroom and leek pie was the best thing we ate, with big flavours and a combination I wouldn't have thought of. The cod with beurre blanc was excellent too, but the vegetable dishes are where this kitchen shines. You can draw all over the table, so our little one was happy and we got to eat in peace. One of our favourites now. We'll be back with the family”

“U could not go wrong with any dish. Recommend you share the dishes…and I agree: very nice to try a bit of everything. The ingredients ….and some u would never think to pair…go splendidly together and really make you rethink your own cooking.”

“We were disappointed with this experience. A good friend recommended and I was looking forward to a fabulous meal. Unfortunately, that was not the case. From the moment we stepped in the restaurant we noted the music was very loud. It’s a nicely decorated and modern restaurant. We were sat at a very nice table upstairs but difficult to even chat with your companion due to how loud the music was. The service was, meh. Nothing special. Our server didn’t come by to ask how our food was, refill our glasses with water. Explanation of the menu was not that great. Food wise, everything, except one dish was also, meh. We had the focaccia and aubergine as a starter. The Focaccia was very good, but the aubergine was lacking flavor. The tomato salad was the best dish. It was very lovely. The beetroot cheesecake was not at all what I expected and I did not love. The chicken was very good but for 39£ I have definitely had better. Overall, we left feeling really unimpressed and did not feel the experience was worth the price. Sadly, would not come again.”

“Rather than a traditional Mediterranean restaurant, I’d describe it as a well-executed fusion concept. The space is stunning — high ceilings, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere created by the white walls and tiled interior. The menu was just a single page, simple but thoughtfully curated. Every dish we ordered was memorable. The food was genuinely delicious. The pork chop restored my faith in British pork, and the roast chicken was astonishingly succulent and flavourful. A special mention to the service: we told our waiter that we were heading to the theatre afterwards, and he carefully explained the timing of each dish and even reminded us about the bill at exactly the right moment. Thoughtful, attentive service that really enhanced the whole experience. Great food, lovely atmosphere, and genuinely attentive service — exactly the kind of place that makes for a special evening.”

“I rarely leave reviews but this was truly a terrible experience due to the food; especially disappointing because Rovi was so good. As you can see in the photos, every dish sans the sourdough was heavily fried or drenched in a pool of oil. The congee, mind you, looks like a soup, but alas, the "soup" you see is nothing but oil - the dish was inedible after several bites. Rather than enjoying varied flavors and textures, the primary focus quickly became attempting but failing to avoid the overwhelming flavor and texture of oil in every dish. No dish was unique; just a sense of "fried" and "oily". We paid almost 200 quid, but I wouldn't eat here again for free.”

“Our Soho-based restaurant has some of the Ottolenghi trademarks - most notably, a menu that celebrates bold flavours. But NOPI has a very different feel to the Ottolenghi delis. The marble is white, the brass is golden, the art is dynamic, and the pace is a little faster. In our main dining room, we offer individual tables accommodating up to 6 guests. Downstairs we have two large sharing tables overlooking our open plan kitchen and larder. NOPI’s menu changes according to the seasons but signature dishes include courgette and manouri fritters, coriander seed-crusted burrata with slices of blood orange and Valdeón cheesecake. NOPI serves lunch, pre-theatre and dinner menus.”
