  “the service was amazing here with fast delivery and wonderful waiters, the atmosphere in the restaurant was lovely with nice lighting on the inside. when it comes to the food all four of us thoroughly enjoyed it and the feta salad is amazing. I strongly recommend the pasta penne chicken arriabbato as it was very good, the price fully worth it.”

  “I have been coming to Bistro1 for 20 years, and it has become my hang out place in the West End, because of the great price/quality ratio and the atmosphere. It is also in Frith Street, so it couldn't be more central. The staff now knows my face so I sometimes get the extra care treatment and attention, which is much appreciated and uncommon for central London establishments in my experience.”

  “My girlfriend and I were looking for a place to shield ourselves from the rain and decided to grab a pint here. They offered olives, bread and hummus (which were absolutely delicious) on the house, and turned a visit out of necessity into a beautiful experience. I cannot thank the staff enough for this small gesture which went a long way!”

  “*GENUINE CUSTOMER REVIEW* Don’t be tricked by the menu or outside advertising boards! As a day out myself and my partner decided to come into this restaurant, seeing the menu from the outside offered 2 courses for around £18 and 3 for £21 with a long menu to choose from. Firstly once you go in the menu was selective to what you could have from the set menu which wasn’t what you see from the outside menu most were with additional costs, and others like burgers where not part of this menu. Service, to be honest service was decent served straight away after being seated and given a complimentary bread and olives with a glass of tap water, Food, we ordered the hummus with falafel and the prawn cocktail with avocado. The hummus falafel was disappointing- hardly any falafel and the ones served were probably harder than rocks in my garden, hummus was most likely out of a tub which could make maybe 30 plates for £5! The prawn cocktail wasn’t bad but way overdressed with thousand island dressing. The mains came out that I was already dreading - my partner had the sea bass, I was absolutely shocked what was given, a small piece that was most likely bought from a supermarket packet for a couple quid, with instant packet mash potatoes and a small portion of creamy spinach which was tasteless. My main was the chicken shish, this has to be one of the worst chicken shish I had even tried to consume! Coming from myself being Turkish and the restaurant owner and staff being Turkish this is an absolute embarrassment to Turks and to our cuisine! The chicken was crunchy, had no taste or any marinade, cooked in an electric grill which tasted of that kind of cooked meat from one of those toasters, the rice well, boiled plain rice (if they got this wrong I’ll be seriously worried), salad was probably the best thing on the plate and the chilli sauce and garlic sauce were pretty good too! All in all we ended up paying £45 which was more than we expected as we had a 2 course each at £18 each but noticed a slapped on service charge bill on top of the hospital food that was served to us… From reading reviews on here this place has many reviews advising customers of the same experiences, clearly the owners don’t really care but my advice unfortunately will be to steer clear unless you like small portions of food that is tasteless or hospital presented food and a catch trick from the restaurant menu that catches you in as if your getting a deal for dinner but actually come out worse off and extremely disappointed… I’ll also say try out other restaurants in the area as there’s plenty more choices with better reviews. Decor of the place was nicely lighted with some traditional Turkish themed lights with red walls and some wooden panels, seating was a little tight and compressed and the seats were a little uncomfortable but would also advise to sit upstairs as most reviewers had complained about the downstairs seating especially near the toilets which smelt quite bad.”

  “Second time I’ve come here now and I love it! The service as soon as I walk in is heart warming. The staff has always been friendly and patient. Though the waiting time for the food is a little bit longer than other places, the lush decorations on the wall are very much entertaining and I always end up conversing about the beautiful lights, paintings and mirrors on the wall. The food has always been unforgettable! Freshly made from the kitchen and tastes like home. I look forward to coming here again, and if you haven’t then I’d definitely recommend :)”
