About The Good Oak
The Good Oak is an Italian restaurant in London at 137 Westbourne Park Rd, working in the style of a Notting Hill tavern. The kitchen takes an LA-inspired approach to Italian food, with wood-fired pizzas alongside comfort dishes. Downstairs is the dining room, where wine, cocktails and beer accompany the meal. Upstairs, a bar hosts live acoustic music, so the evening can move from dinner to drinks within the same building. A private dining room is available for groups.

Customer Review Summary
Pizza is the most frequent draw. One reviewer calls it a weekly pizza appointment that held up after the renovation, and others pair it with Italian bites, wine and dessert. The Sunday roast comes close behind. One reviewer praises the roast potatoes, a big pot of gravy and the yorkies, while another found the roast decent but the potatoes lacking, the carrots sparse and the price excessive even for Notting Hill. Others call the place reasonably priced and good value. The burnt lemon drop and Prosecco are named, staff are described as friendly, welcoming and quick, and upstairs is lively with a DJ. Downstairs is called very loud and squishy. One says waiters seemed to rush them out for another booking, and another found drinks occasionally delayed on a busy Sunday, with a suggestion to reserve ahead. One upstairs customer was charged more for a repeat round of identical cocktails, and the manager apologised but refunded nothing.

“I had come in the past for a drink upstairs and felt that the bottom restaurant looked very good. It ended up being better than what we expected: amazing drinks, pizza, and service. Thank you to Kamil and Fleur for the perfect service.”

“Came with a group for a birthday party. We had dinner and then went upstairs for drinks after. My friend ordered our first round. When I went to order our second round of the same exact drinks I was charged 10£ more. When I asked the bartender why and for a receipt - he started screaming at me. Saying how I should be grateful bc he gave me a discount. He then gave me three receipts. One for 3 cocktails (that I didn’t order) and then 2 for 2 combinations of premium tequila. He said if I kept complaining he’d charge me 60£ for 3 drinks. I told the manager who was apologetic but did not refund anything. What an insane experience. Charge 15£ a drink - that’s totally fine but just make sure every round is priced the same if you’re ordering the same thing. Also, legally, you have to give customers a receipt. Don’t start screaming if we ask for one.”

“I came across Good Oak Restaurant last night, and we had such a lovely time there. We enjoyed a bottle of Prosecco and some sparkling water. The staff were absolutely fantastic they made the whole place feel even nicer. Everyone was so friendly, welcoming, talkative, quick, and active. They were incredibly attentive and seemed to take care of everything without any notice or delay. We had such a good time, and I definitely want to go back and try the food properly. If you’re in more of a party mood, the upstairs area is really nice, with a DJ and a lively atmosphere. Downstairs is more like a traditional restaurant, but honestly, the whole place has a great vibe. The best surprise was discovering that it’s actually not expensive at all, especially for this area. It’s probably one of the most reasonably priced places around here. Thank you so much we had a wonderful time and really loved the place! ❤️🥂”

“I had such a nice time. The food is amazing but the staff is even better, thank you Zak, Franz, Elena and Kamel for the night. I definitely recommend the place. Your time in london deserves some time here. Don’t miss out!”

“Been hanging in a long time to see this bar as it’s highly recommended. I walk in, and I’m greeted by the bar manager Luke. He greets me as if he’s been awaiting my arrival, as if I’m family. Incredibly welcoming and relaxed, but the venue itself is buzzing and lively so Ricky steps in. Ricky was my server for the night and he was ON IT. A quick chat and he has a recommendation for you. On his rec I had the burnt lemon drop and anyone reading this has to order it as mandate! The food of course was top notch but it’s a the character that makes the place what it is. Lastly we had another bartender (George?) checking in on us at the very end. Now that the experience is over I know he was ushering us out. But in the moment you could hardly tell, he was so funny and charismatic. Honestly even the departure was the final bow wrapping up an unforgettable night. This place is eccentric and home :)”
