About DI LORO

DI LORO is an Italian restaurant at 154 Ladbroke Grove in London, where the kitchen makes its pasta and pizza dough in house. The owners describe their recipes as family heritage passed down through generations, and a boar ragú sits among them. Ingredients are locally sourced, and the cooking follows a traditional approach to Italian recipes. The menu also carries pizza and a Calabrian gnocchi, so the kitchen's own pasta and dough appear across several parts of the menu. To drink, the list includes Fragolino sparkling wine.

Customer Review Summary

Pasta and pizza anchor the praise at Di Loro, with the carbonara singled out by one diner as the best they had, thanks to crisp bacon and perfectly cooked pasta. Close behind are the pizza, described as having a tasty crust like those in Italy, and the gnocchi, including a Calabrian version. Others name the seafood tagliatelle, spaghetti bolognese, mushroom ravioli, burrata with figs, and a pear dessert with vanilla ice cream, while the tiramisu draws a direct recommendation from one reviewer. Drinks such as an Italian merlot and Fragolino sparkling wine get a mention too. Service is a constant thread: reviewers describe a friendly, welcoming server or manager who made good recommendations, and one notes the server was running the restaurant alone. Several call the prices reasonable, with one saying two drinks and two pastas came to a modest total. No recurring complaints appear. One diner closes on a fan placed near their table to keep them cool.

“On the 17th my girlfriend and I had a wonderful time at Di Loro ladbroke grove. The waiter was a lovely guy and made it an amazing experience . The atmosphere was great and the lighting was nice so we got some gorgeous photos. The food was 10/10 as well, very nice, came out quickly and was affordable !! Would 100% recommend and will definitely be heading there again”

“Lovely restaurant! We had a super friendly server who was so nice and made us feel welcome. We shared pizza and Calabrian gnocchi, and both were absolutely amazing. Our drinks were very nice too. I can definitely only recommend coming here, for anything from a casual lunch to a date night - the food and vibe is worth it! 🫶🍕🍝”

“Wow ! This place absolutely lives up to its high ratings ! I had the most wonderful dinner and am so glad I decided to stray away from the busier Portobello Road restaurants. This little gem of a restaurant is honestly perfect. The setting is so warm, cozy, elegant yet unpretentious. I was dining solo and felt so at home. The place is beautiful, the music is perfect, the food is delicious ( I had caprese salad, seafood tagliatelle and tiramisu) and is very reasonably priced. But the best part is the beautiful Cid! She is literally the best waitress I have ever interacted with. She's so warm and kind and polite and friendly and I noticed she treated everyone in this manner. Her job isn't easy (standing all day on your feet and dealing with people !) but she does it with so much grace and the kindest smile! She made me feel so welcome and I truly enjoyed our chat. She was funny and caring in a professional and non intrusive way. She is honestly a star and deserves all the praise (and a raise !). Thank you again Cid for such a memorable evening and also a big thank you to the chef. Wishing this restaurant all the success in the world and I will make sure to tell everyone visiting London about it ❤️”

“Perfect meal out, a true hidden gem. It really does deserve all the high ratings. Our server (whose name I forgot) was so welcoming and friendly, even though he was running the restaurant completely by himself. As for the food, the Carbonara was the best I have ever had, and I have had many many Carbonaras. The bacon was so delicious and crispy, and the pasta was cooked perfectly. Another point to make was the great value - 2 drinks, 2 pastas only came to £33! A 10/10 meal and would definitely visit again.”

“I had the pizza di loro! Loved it! Tasty crust, not dissimilar to the ones in Italy! Amazing toppings. My husband had the gnocchi. He was very happy with! Plenty of great choices on the menu! We had a tasty Italian merlot that complemented the food really well! Service was friendly and professional! It was the first time that we came to this restaurant, and we will certainly come back! Half eaten pizza on the photo. To tasty to wait!”

Good to know

“We serve traditional food with a specific approach to typical italian recipes. Our ingredients are locally sourced and our pasta is a homemade production as well as our pizza dough. Making good food is our passion and we aim to pass it on to you. From boar ragú to desert, our recipes are important to us because they are our heritage, passed on generation by generation sharing family meals that for us is more than “just” food on a plate, it’s love in the form of delicious flavour and smells.”
