Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often point to the all-you-can-eat menu, where diners name the braised pork belly and the crispy sweet and sour pork belly, called guo bao rou, as favourites. Close behind are the dry chilli chicken, piled under dried chillies and Sichuan peppercorn, and the water-boiled beef, dry-fried green beans, long beans and mapo tofu. The stir-fried beef with chilli, beef chow fun, double cooked sliced pork, steamed fish and chicken soup also earn mentions. Several describe the dishes as authentic, the portions as generous and the vegetables as fresh, and a few say the food does not feel heavy or oily. Value comes up repeatedly, including the set menus. The main complaint is waiting: one hot pot diner says food took a long while to arrive even as the first table in, though they still rated the ingredients fresh and delicious. Staff are described as friendly and quick, and one reviewer who took a meal to go found it disrupted the staff, who still did a great job.

“Really enjoyed our meal at Sichuan House! The food was delicious, and the £26 all-you-can-eat menu is great value for money! We ordered the braised pork belly, sweet and sour crispy pork, stir-fried beef with chilli, and morning glory with garlic. The braised pork belly was tender and full of flavour, and the crispy pork had a lovely sweet and tangy sauce. The stir-fried beef was especially tasty and went perfectly with rice. The morning glory was fresh, garlicky, and really delicious too! Everything we ordered was lovely, and we had a great dining experience. Definitely worth a visit if you’re craving Chinese food in London! Highly recommended!”

“The mapo tofu was authentic and made with doubanjiang, the traditional fermented bean paste. The chicken soup was so rich and flavourful, and the steamed fish was incredibly fresh. Surprisingly, even a Sichuan restaurant can serve dishes that taste so fresh and delicate! The lunch set menu is great value for money! I’ll definitely recommend this place to my friends.”

“Highly recommend the buffet menu at £26 per person! There’s a great variety of dishes, with lots of delicious and authentic Cantonese and Sichuan cuisine to choose from. My personal favourite was the guo bao rou (crispy sweet and sour pork belly), perfectly crispy on the outside with a delicious sweet and tangy sauce. The beef chow fun and double cooked sliced pork are also must-tries! Great variety and delicious food. Definitely worth a visit!”
