Quick info
About Pang's London
Run by one family alongside the Pang's fish and chip shop next door, Pang's London is a Chinese takeaway on Kentish Town Road in Camden, close to the Stable Market. Orders are taken at the counter with no booking, and everything is packed for eating off site. The Chinese side of the menu covers house-made pancake rolls with a choice of fillings, sweet and sour chicken balls and Singapore rice noodles, with further stir-fried rice noodle and chow mein plates alongside. Portions run large, and a couple of dishes stretch to feed two, which also makes the kitchen a fit for bigger orders placed by groups. Next door, fish is fried to order rather than held on the hot plate. Payment is cash only, including on delivery, so it helps to come prepared, and a cash machine sits outside the Tesco a couple of minutes up the road. The shop opens Monday to Saturday and closes on Sundays.

Customer Review Summary
The fish and chips draw the most repeat praise, with several describing crisp, lightly floured batter and fish that tastes fresh, cooked to order rather than left sitting on a hot plate, and one initial skeptic admitting the chip shop side outperformed expectations. Close behind is the Chinese menu, where reviewers single out house-made pancake rolls in three flavours, sweet and sour chicken balls called tender real chicken in a tangy rather than overly sweet sauce, and generous Singapore rice noodles; others name the Ho Fung, salt and pepper prawns, beef chow mein and duck rice, and one visitor compared the stir-fried rice noodles with beef to Hong Kong cooking. A large staff lunch order is described as arriving fresh and complete, and the counter is repeatedly called friendly. The dissent is blunt: one reviewer found the egg fried rice and sweet and sour chicken poor and reports being sick that night. A few flag cash only, one pointing out a cash machine a couple of minutes up the road.

“Ordered fish, chips and curry, sweet/sour chicken and egg fried rice. Pretty expensive too at over £28. The fish was nice but that’s about it. Also, considering I threw up the meal at 2am, not great. Egg fried rice was pretty bad too, sweet and sour chicken was also. It’s a shame as looking at the reviews you’d think this is a good spot. Edible, but I will not be returning again.”

“I recently ordered a large takeaway from Pang’s Chinese in Camden for a staff lunch and it was absolutely fantastic. The food was delicious, fresh and full of flavour, and everything arrived perfectly prepared despite it being a fairly large order. Every single person loved the food. There was such a great variety and every dish went down really well with the team. In fact, several people were asking for the restaurant details so they could order from Pang’s themselves after trying it. The service was smooth, reliable and really easy to organise, which made planning the event much less stressful. It’s not always easy to cater for a big group but Pang’s absolutely delivered. I couldn’t recommend Pang’s Chinese takeaway more highly. If you’re ordering for a group, an event or even just a normal takeaway night, you won’t be disappointed.”

“A business doesn't stay for 40 years without being good value and tasty. Cash only.YES THEY DELIVER (if you pay cod). Fish & chips next door to Chinese takeaway BOTH PANGS. They make their own pancake rolls (spring rolls) with a choice of 3 flavours. Very very yummy. Filling is excellent and good crunch on inside and out. A little bit more expensive than everyday frozen spring rolls but TOTALLY WORTH IT. Sweet n sour chicken balls. Real chicken not like mucky D's "textured" rubbish. Tender, succulent and plump. These are LARGE and you get 10 per serving. Sweet n sour sauce is not that too sweet, ketchup N pineapple juice that most Chinese takeaways use. It's tangy and delicious. Singapore rice noodles... mmm good size portions. When u add it up you can get a PROPER meal that's almost enough for 2 for less than £20. Hot, healthy, tasty. Not luke warm, unhealthy, too many carbs like Maccas. Duck rice - a true Cantonese staple is also very good. It's not "Chinatown Chinese" it's anglicised Chinese like most takeaways. Ive been coming here for a couple of years. I wouldn't keep coming back if it wasn't good.”

“This is the best Chinese in London, I’ve been going here since I was a young kid and the quality is still amazing, family business that also run a fish and chip shop next door. only thing is, I wish they were open on a Sunday and maybe close on a Monday because I could always do a cheeky Chinese on a Sunday!”

“Best Chinese food for a 1 mile radius. Affordable and better priced. Portions are generous. Highly recommend if you are in Camden, to avoid the Stable Market Asian food traps, where they try to entice you with a piece of chicken, all there food is bland and tasteless and costs you double and you get a portion half of what you would get a Pangs. Highly recommend the Ho Fung.”
