Customer Review Summary
Diners most often praise the food, naming salt and pepper prawns and squid, a soft shell crab dish and imperial pork ribs, with several calling it delicious and quick to arrive. Close behind are the floating pagoda setting, live jazz that a few mention, and lychee cocktails one table reordered. Several welcome the vegetarian options, though one vegetarian party found the food underwhelming. Service draws mixed reports: some find staff warm and patient, but one reviewer says a waiter ordered a dish they never asked for instead of tofu and vegetables, and dumplings came with no soy or garlic sauce. Another had to ask for menus and for water three times, and one notes the online menu is outdated. One reviewer says the quality does not match the price and saves it for special occasions. One diner recalls free drinks for everyone on the owner's birthday, two cocktails each.

“We recently dined here and were extremely disappointed. From the moment we ordered, it was clear the waiter either couldn’t understand us or simply wasn’t listening. We specifically asked whether they could make a tofu and vegetable dish, but instead of answering our question or discussing the options, he ordered a completely different dish that we never asked for. When our dumplings arrived, we requested soy sauce and garlic sauce, only to be told by the waitress that they didn’t have any sauces at all. For a restaurant serving dumplings, this was very surprising and disappointing. The service throughout was poor, with staff coming across as dismissive and unhelpful rather than trying to resolve our requests. As vegetarians, we also found the food to be underwhelming and lacking in flavour. Overall, the combination of poor service, lack of communication, rude staff and disappointing vegetarian food meant this was not an enjoyable dining experience. We won’t be returning and unfortunately cannot recommend this restaurant.”

“Fantastic food, cool location. Interior is nice but a little out dated, the fact that it's a boat is fun. Service was sub par: we didn't get given any menus so we had to ask for them, had to ask for a jug of water for the table 3 times before getting given only a single glass. Didn't ruin the experience though. Food came out fast.”

“Good food, the quality does not match the price and so save this place as a special event type of meal. While I did enjoy everything and the service was quick, it's about 20% more expensive than I would give for what I got.”

“Food was as close as it gets to American Chinese food (which was something we were craving). Many vegetarian options. Good spot for a larger group and also comfortable for a family lunch.”

“This review is long overdue. I've been gong to Feng Shang Princess for over 20 years. And before that I was often marvelling at its striking exterior when passing by. The interior is also exotic while intimate and cosy. The classic Chinese dishes are top notch. The service is flawless. While the dishes are brought promptly, the diners enjoy the experience at their own pace. ...a well established, tried and tested venue that will still impress by the visuals and the great taste.”
