  “Cool location but if you can, avoid the place. The staff is incredibly rude. We ordered 2 drinks from the table and the waiter serving didn't even greet us, no smile, nothing, just unfriendly. Not sure if that's too much of an ask for a customer facing role. I could've enjoyed the same drinks for a fraction of the price without having to deal with someone's miserable attitude. On top of it, the glasses they serve the drinks in are very dirty. I just moved my finger over it and had the crust from the inside of the glass under my fingernail - potential health and safety issue maybe? When I brought it up, the person behind the bar was really aggressive with me and insulted me which was insane!”

  “We only had drinks at this place, so I can't say anything about the food. On the other hand, the location of the place is very nice, with a beautiful river view. I would go again.”

  “Table by the Thames outside was great. We were just here for drinks and a snack. Ok service time after ordering. Drinks were prompt and food a bit later. The King prawn and smoked Scottish salmon cocktail was heavily seasoned with mayo and cayenne. The shrimp were al dente. The Halloumi fries (a version of mozzarella sticks) were ok as well. Not great not terrible. Food just ok. Venue better.”

  “This pub has become a bit of a favourite for the partner and I when we're in London due to its great location on the river, it's incredible size, meaning that it's usually possible to find a table at moderately busy times of the week, and it generally has at least London pride on tap as well as real Budvar.”

  “I had a wonderful experience at Old Thameside last night, made truly special by Lakshmi’s outstanding service. From the moment we arrived, she was warm, attentive, and incredibly personable, ensuring everything ran seamlessly throughout our meal. Her knowledge of the menu was impressive, and her thoughtful recommendations were spot on. Lakshmi struck the perfect balance between being attentive without ever being intrusive, and her genuine friendliness made us feel so welcome and well looked after. She is a real credit to the team, and her professionalism and positive energy made our evening memorable. We’ll definitely be returning, thanks in no small part to her exceptional service. It's a beautiful pub, a real hidden gem right next to the river. Thank-you Lakshmi for giving us a warm welcome and outstanding service throughout the evening, very much appreciated.”

  “First time visiting London, first time trying fish & chips, and sausage & mash. Everything was great!! Lakshmi’s service was awesome, she was very polite and gave us great recommendations for drinks. The local lager and pale ale. The place was really cool as well, great views of the city and the Thames🙌🏻”

  “Yash and his fellow coworkers treated our group of 14 amazingly!! We were seated immediately with extremely quick service even accommodating our crazy request to make iced tea with ice and a pot of hot tea. We are an American AP literature group from a small texas high school that thoroughly loved the atmosphere at Nicholson’s. We have eaten and explored our way across London for the past three days and this food has far surpassed all meals! Thank you for ending our trip on a very delicious note!”

  “Stopped here just for drinks, after walking along Southbank. The place was buzzing with people but we still managed to get a table with a nice view overlooking Thames. Staff were friendly but drinks a bit more expensive than other places.”

  “The Old Thameside Inn, a stones throw from Southwark Cathedral and Borough Market. A super cavernous pub offering unrivalled views of Old Father Thames. A great offering of beers from Nicholson's. The pub has copious outside seating to watch the boats go by. The Golden Hinde lives nextdoor and is currently undergoing extensive refurbishment. A great riverside pub.”

  “Fantastic Fantastic pub/restaurant Been many many times 2023 24 and 2025 Sadly due to moving out of area just Revisited March 2026 But will return more often Has to be one of the best if not the best on the south bank Good service Good food Good beer Good location What more can you ask for 😀 Sitting outside on a warm day is a delight Highly recommended 👌”
