About The Griffin
The Griffin is a pub in London at 1262 High Rd, laid out as many small rooms and sections inside, with open fireplaces and a large beer garden at the back. Football and other major sports play on six screens, including a large one for big matches. The kitchen serves pub grub, with a roast on the menu at lunch. Dogs are welcome, and the bar keeps treats for them. The pub also hosts functions, including birthday parties. Security staff stand at the entrance, and a queue to get in is common.

Customer Review Summary
The large beer garden is what reviewers raise most, calling it massive, huge and lovely, with one noting the renovated space and a few imagining it in summer. Close behind is sport, with a huge screen for football and Arsenal on a TV above an open fireplace, plus a great range of beers and wine. Staff are repeatedly called lovely and helpful, and one family praised the team for handling a function for a 50th birthday, with lots of dancing. One diner enjoyed the baked Camembert with sourdough, though they had to ask for cutlery. A few find the many little rooms and sections hard to navigate. Complaints centre on service. A booked Sunday lunch for seven meant the beef roast was unavailable and only turkey was offered. The food arrived in staggered batches, the sprouts and parsnips were rock hard, the gravy sat underneath, and a dessert menu came with no desserts. Another reviewer said security kept them in a long queue and ignored complaints about people cutting in. After Arsenal won, a barmaid took a group photo herself.

“It was a horrible experience. I have been visiting that pub for last two years. I will never come to that place again in my life. Your security guys were I came to pub today at 16:50. My friend was waiting in there and bought me a pint. There was a very long queue and they didn’t allow me in even my friend told them she was waiting for me. That’s ok of course. I went end of the queue and started to wait at the corner on the street. I waited until 17:20. And than I saw that people who cutting in at the middle of the queue. I left the air to talk to security guy. I explaned him this is not fair that I have been waiting at the queue and people are cutting in. He said that wait here and then he changed his shift with his colleagues. I had wait 5 min and tried to talk them. He tried to send me to end of the queue again. I said that your colleague said me to wait here. He didn’t listen to me. He was searching a guy who was waiting in front of me and he said that to him for me that “he was in the queue behind me.” That security guy didn’t listen to me. My friend came from inside the pub and she said that “he was waiting since 16:50. That security guy didn’t listen to her as well. I said him I left to queue to come to your colleague to say that people cutting in queue. Anyway, I had to leave with my friend and found another pub. You need to teach your staff (especially security guys) how to treat your clients. I will never forget that injustice and rudeness (and I’m sorry to say that but it was stupidity as well.) By the way if you check the your security cameras between 16:50-17:35 at the entrance, you can see me (black tshirt, khaki shirt, backpack and camera on my neck). I didn’t take any photos because I was very upset and angry. How he was unfair and rude.”

“Would highly recommend this pub for any major sports viewing in the future. Proper local feel with an added spice with the renovated beer garden. Potential to add additional seating and outdoor heaters but that’s it. My go to pub if in the north west London area”

“Nice little pub in Whetstone. Reasonably priced and good service. Very much a locals pub. I imagine this would be great in summer with the large beer garden in the back.”
