Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the raspberry Bacchus beer, which one drinker who rarely touches beer found fruity enough to like, and another is always pleased to see on the drinks menu. Close behind are the crispy cauliflower florets with a spicy and sweet sauce, called a must-order by one regular, plus the chicken schnitzel with fries and tender calamari from the bar snack menu. The Sunday roast is called one of the better ones in the area. Staff are repeatedly called friendly and quick even when busy, and a birthday for 30 guests drew praise for helpful staff and catered food. On the negative side, one Sunday visitor found the main menu cut in half for roasts, with no one asking about the food or clearing the table. A football fan left at half time because the match played in near silence, and the barman replied that it is what it is. Another reviewer had the TV and music turned down on request without quibble.

“Service disinterested today, normal main menu is cut down by half on Sunday because of roasts. Leaves the selection a little limited when no roasts at 4pm. No one bothered to ask how the food was or bothered to clear the table afterwards. Usually way better than this.”

“BEST PUB IN NORTH LONDON Came in the other day for drinks and was served by Tallulah who was amazing and convinced us to get food. Best decision ever!!! Ended up having the ceaser salad and it was the perfect balance of sause and chicken. The manger Sam also came over and had a conversation with us regarding the World Cup and what an exciting evening the final was. Felt very looked after and would definitely visit again!”

“Decided to go to the Ranelagh to watch Englands first game. They have at least 7 screens(inc few big screens),sat down ordered food and drink only for the match to start with hardly any volume.Sat the whole of first half watching the match in near silence. When i asked the young barman about volume he replied"it is what it is" I left the pub at half time totally disappointed as have been looking forward to it all week. Will never go back to watch a match again as there is no atmosphere with no volume, and the barman(a young kid)was quite rude when i asked a simple question.I noticed quite a few people also left disappointed.”

“My partner and I visited The Ranelagh recently, and we had such a lovely experience. A huge thank you to Milly, whose service was absolutely impeccable. She was warm, friendly, attentive, and genuinely made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Nothing was too much trouble, and she struck the perfect balance of checking in on us without ever being intrusive. Great service can really make a meal, and Milly definitely did that for us. She’s a real asset to The Ranelagh. We’ll definitely be back!”
