About Crutched Friar
Crutched Friar is a pub in London on Crutched Friars, near Tower Bridge and behind the Hilton Doubletree. A vaulted wooden ceiling tops the pub, and designer wallpaper is part of the decor. Tuesday is curry evening, so it suits a midweek meal. The taps carry local and seasonal beers, and the bar team makes recommendations for anyone who wants a pick. Food includes fish and chips and 1kg BBQ chicken wings. Orders go through the bar or a QR code at the table, and sofas sit in the indoor area.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the beer, from local brews on tap to seasonal pours. One praises a hazy pale recommended by the bar manager, and another suggests asking what is on tap because seasonal beers sometimes run out. Close behind is the friendly staff, who share drink recommendations and talk through the local breweries. The food earns steady praise too: fish and chips described as lightly battered with fresh fish and thick chips, 1kg BBQ chicken wings, and a chef's special. Diners call the pub cozy and spacious with comfortable sofas, a quiet, friendly atmosphere where the music is not loud, and a wonderful outdoor space. A few note that it fills up quickly at lunchtime. The complaints are small. One first-time visitor was confused by the QR code ordering at the table before working it out, and a parent wished the bar staff were friendlier. That same parent's five year old loved the fancy kids' plates.

“We always have a fantastic experience at The Crutched Friar. The food and atmosphere are consistently great, but what really keeps us coming back is the amazing service. Our waitress, Sofia (apologies if I’ve spelled her name wrong!), is always so attentive whenever we visit. She’s incredibly polite, friendly, and makes us feel genuinely welcome every time. It’s rare to find such consistently excellent customer service, and she really is a credit to the team. Highly recommend!”
