About Leman Street Tavern
At 31 Leman St in London, Leman Street Tavern is a pub serving a British menu alongside cask ales, craft beers and wines, with beers on tap. The kitchen cooks fish and chips, and the Sunday roast comes with roast beef and Yorkshire pudding. Guests order and pay at the bar, and the food is brought to the table. A private dining space called the Chamber Room hosts events and work functions for groups. It holds a full table and a TV with an HDMI connector, so presentations and screen sharing are possible. Customer Review Summary
Private event rooms draw the most attention, with several groups describing corporate socials and work functions in the private dining room and the Chamber Room. They praise prompt communication from the managers and friendly, helpful service staff. One group ran a quiz in the room, and another had pastries and coffee for breakfast and sandwiches and chips for lunch. Close behind is the food: a Sunday roast with a huge, soft Yorkshire pudding, trout with smashed new potatoes and spring peas, thyme and parsley sausages with mashed potatoes, and a prawn linguine. Cocktails and a beer on tap that suits a gluten free diet also earn mentions. Opinions split on the fish and chips, called the best in years by one group and the worst ever by another reviewer, who received a small, burnt fish with only a few chips. Others found the staff unwelcoming during a Sunday roast, a burger too expensive for its quality, and the bavette steak small for hungry young men. That same reviewer of the fish and chips also reports the ice cream arrived already melted.

“Just changed jobs and needed to find my new after work local and stumbled into Leman Street Tavern and what a find! Greeted with warmth and friendliness from the second you walk in the door, I already knew I was going to feel relaxed here. Great array of beers on tap but I saw my go-to, I’m a Jubel gal, so happy I get to keep my gluten free self safe. Having skipped lunch I needed to explore the menu and their prawn linguine was the right size to keep me going until I got home for dinner. Thanks to Kat and co for welcoming me to the neighbourhood. It’s made the grey of Aldgate a little bit more colourful.”

“Hosted a private event at The Chambers, the set-up was great for 15 - 20 people (could have had more space if we had configured the room in another way, but now we know!) Communication with the managers Kat & Aline was prompt and seamless. On the day, service staff were friendly and helpful, shoutout to Kat (again) and James. Food is great, guests were happy. Will gladly rebook with Leman Street Tavern 😊”

“We had a work function in the Chamber Room. TV with HDMI connector and a full table that can take around 15 people. Pastries and coffee for breakfast, sandwiches and chips for lunch. Kat was very attentive when booking too. Would recommend and definitely use again.”

“Too expensive for the quality of the food. I had a burger, but it was far from the best I've ever had and it was also quite expensive. The place was empty on a Wednesday night.”

“I had the worst fish and chips ever. The fish was very small and was served with only a few chips. Worst of all … the fish was burnt and overcooked. Disgusting that the chef and staff felt that it was ok to serve it. It wasn’t. Also the ice cream they served had already melted. I would not recommend this tavern for dining. It was horrible.”
