Customer Review Summary
Diners most often point to a fully gluten free menu, with two reviewers praising the absence of cross contamination worries and the gluten free beer. Vegetarian and vegan options are also noted. Named dishes include a huge burger with a Yorkshire pudding inside, called very tasty, along with the fish pie, the pizzas, the fish and chips Wednesday deal, fried chicken, sausage and mash, and a sticky toffee dessert. Staff are described as friendly and quick, drinks as well kept, and one Sunday lunch was served to the table rather than as a carvery. One reviewer suggests booking a table for peak times. The complaints centre on order accuracy. One group's table booked by messenger was not in the book, and a two-star review describes steaks ordered rare arriving medium and medium well, fries instead of the requested salad, a sour tasting mayonnaise, and a long wait for a bill that turned out to be for a larger table including a bottle of wine. Another reviewer dislikes a pie placed on top of the mash.

“We had our son’s 18th birthday family meal here . Pre ordered our meals . Mixture of starters, roast dinners, burgers , pasta , pie and a kids meal . So well organised , drinks arrived first , soon followed by meals . Food was given a thumbs up by everyone . Very relaxed atmosphere and staff were super friendly . No pressure to leave . Very impressed and will definately return and recommend to others .”

“The service was excellent and the price was what one pays in the current market. The pizzas are excellent as is the fish and chips Wednesday deal. The salads are well stacked, the beer was well kept. The premises were clean. Just a pet hate is having a pie stuck on top of your mash potatoes, please put it to the side”

“First time visting for a little birthday lunch. Lovely place. The place is clean and well decorated. Food was lovely and a great value for money. Gentleman that served us was very professional. Unfortunately I didn't get his name. It was his first day today. (20th May) He made sure we had everything we needed. Thank you for a lovely meal.”

“Disappointing. A catalogue of errors. Ordered rare steaks. One was medium the other medium well. I ordered one with salad, no fries. Came with fries no salad, so sent back. By the time they asked if all ok, we had managed to eat half, so felt unfair to send back again. We did point out how overcooked it was. We asked for mayo, very sour tasting, odd mayonnaise, not pleasant. I then asked the boy for the bill when he cleared table. After 15 mins we went to till to pay. I said to him I was still waiting for the bill. He said, oh do you want your bill? I said yes please, I did ask 15 mins ago. He said again, oh do you want your bill? He then printed it and gave it to me. The bill was for a larger table and included a bottle of wine. I pointed this out. He then flustered and fumbled and used minced oaths for 5 minutes until he finally got the right one. A strange mix of staff with varying abilities. A shame as the steak seemed good quality.”

“A regular pub stop serving great food. Went as a group of 4 for lunch meal 2/03/26, we have used the green on numerous ocasions and never been disapointed. However today for some reason surpassed all expectations, the resturant was quickly filled with customers but the service remained impecable with all staff providing a speedy, profesional and cheerful seevice. Food chosen included fried chicken, sausage @ mash, jacket potato and chicken parmigano. The portion size for the offer price of the day was amazing, the food was seved hot and well presented. All dishes in all our minds were the best ever, even had trouble fitting in the sticky toffee desert but that again was delicious so we managed it. A great lunchtime meal in a pleasant welcoming pub. Give it a try, very worthwhile. The drinks are also excekent and well kept.”
