Customer Review Summary
Friendly, attentive staff are the most repeated draw, with reviewers describing servers who checked in without being intrusive and went above and beyond for families. The carvery comes close behind. One diner called the beef dinner excellent and the beef tender, and another noted loads of choice. Desserts also earn praise, especially the biscoff cake, and several reviewers say the family area where children can play made the visit more relaxed. Food draws the main complaints. One reviewer found the Hunters chicken reheated, chewy and tasteless, with onion rings that seemed store bought and chips that were luke warm. The same reviewer's ice cream cone order arrived as a tub with strawberry sauce spilling over the box. Another diner found the IPA bitter, and a carvery guest noted lots of vegetables but none green. Even so, staff brought peas for that guest's elderly mother, and one group went home with enormous pieces of cake.

“Great food, great service. Chelsea who greeted and looked after us was really nice and attentive. It’s been so long since we’ve gone out and felt genuinely looked after. Thank you to her and the rest of the team .”

“Visited for the first time today 3 adults. What a lovely place this is. We were welcomed by a lovely lady, didn't get her name. Carvery was excellent, loads of choice. Our waitress was Brooke and what an amazing asset to the restaurant she is. Will be visiting again soon.”

“Lovely pub with friendly & helpful staff. We stopped here for a meal after visiting family locally and had the small carvery each. The only comment is that there was lots of choice of vegetables but no green ones. We all enjoyed what was available and they did provide some peas for my elderly mother. Would definitely stop here again if in the area”

“We went to the Windmill carvery As a celebration for my granddaughter achieving a gold certificate at school. We all enjoyed our menu and the service was very good. Congratulations to the chef Robert from us all. My beef dinner was excellent and the beef so tender. The only disappointment was the IPA my son was served, was bitter and could have been better. Overall, a very pleasant occasion, congratulations to Chef Robert. We will definitely be coming again. Three of our group came home with enormous pieces of cake which will be enjoyed this evening.”

“5 stars purely for the service. Leasha was our server, and she was extremely attentive, friendly, and made us feel genuinely welcome from the moment we arrived. She couldn’t do enough for us, regularly checked in without being intrusive, and made sure we had everything we needed. She is a real credit to the team and turned what would have been an average experience into a great one. Thank you, Leasha!”
