Customer Review Summary
Staff draw the most praise, described as welcoming, friendly and hard working, with one server singled out as accommodating and kind. Food comes close behind, with the chicken tikka, wings and nachos, a double bacon cheeseburger and a crème brûlée named as highlights, and a few say the food arrived hot and the pints were good. Regulars also like the open mic Sundays and themed Friday nights such as back to school night, and one lunch visitor liked how quiet it was. Complaints centre on kitchen consistency and portions. One diner's gammon was mostly fat, and the replacement sausage and mash was mushy and undercooked inside. Another reviewer says fish and chips arrived as a small battered sardine with chips. A lunch reviewer found the halloumi and chips unevenly plated with hard chips, and another noted no sauces offered and an uncleared table. The replacement steak that came back out with yellow and green fat is the detail that sticks.

“Came in today for a Saturday pint, and ordered the wings and Nachos. The best wings I’ve had! Food is always amazing and the staff even better. Everytime we visit we never leave disappointed! 10/10 always. Really enjoying the open mic Sundays, such a good atmosphere and buzz about the place! Vibes 10/10!”

“It’s been recently taken over by new management - and while it’s clear they’ve been a great choice for the business it’s nice to see Emma is still in the kitchen sending out amazing food as ever. Really enjoying the different choices on the menu and plan to work my way through it. Great place to visit and I’m loving the new events that have been on. Highly recommend!”

“Easily the best pub in Hykeham! This has been my local for years. Friday nights are always the best! We came for the back to school night last Friday and we had the best time ever, they are making a massive effort to do different nights like this and it’s a big hit! Making a real difference. The staff, the food, especially the chicken tikka make us want to return again and again. I’m proud to call it my local! ❤️”
