About Crown & Arrows
On Moorland Ave in Lincoln, Crown & Arrows is a pub with a Super Specials value menu and a seating plan that mixes private booths with open dining spaces. The food menu runs from halloumi fingers as a starter to a mixed grill, with steaks served with chips. Sticky toffee sponge with custard covers pudding. Ordering works two ways: drinks are ordered at the bar, and some food is ordered from the table. Deals run on both drinks and food, and the pub shows sports fixtures for the big games.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often point to the mixed grill as the draw, praised as hot and very tasty and described as a bargain, with steaks cooked as requested and chips, halloumi fingers with a spicy sauce, and a sticky toffee sponge with custard also named. Friendly, polite staff come up repeatedly, along with a relaxed, non rowdy room with nicely spaced seating and booths, and several call it good value for family meals, including one four generation get together. Drinks deals get a mention too. The complaints are more specific. One reviewer found no real ale, only John Smiths on draught, a cider that tasted like warm sweet squash, and no non-alcoholic cocktail by the glass despite the menu. The same diner found the popadoms and mixed grill salty, the lasagne salad swamped in dressing, and sides like chips or naan extra. Another waited at the bar for drinks mid-meal while the food went cold, and a few noted few staff and no one checking back.

“Really enjoyed our visit. If you don't like a super busy pub environment this is great. Nicely spaced seating, private booths & open dining spaces. Food was very tasty with a good variety. Deals on drinks. Very pleasant, relaxed, non rowdy environment”

“We are a staying on the park campsite, so for the last night decided to eat out and have a few beers. Choice of Wetherspoon or Crown and Arrows. We chose the Crown and arrows as we haven’t been to a hungry horse for ages. Took the 25 minute walk and arrived ready for a beer… Unfortunately despite the photos, they do not do Real Ale , just John Smiths on draught! As it was a warm evening we decided on cherry and berries cider, this was more like warm sweet squash, so obviously the box had only just been put in the fridge. My daughter wanted a glass of non-alcoholic cocktail, but told we would have to have a pitcher as they cannot do a glass (despite what it said on the drinks menu). I stood at the bar for a good while to order food as there seemed to be very few staff, and lots being ordered from the table as they suggested! Disappointing that the Lasagne only comes with salad, so a side order of either chips or garlic bread required. Again a side of Naan bread required with a curry. This then bumps the price up. Whilst waiting for food there was a fight starting in the other bar leaving 2 bar ladies to try and stop the situation, which I will say one handled really well. The food came out fairly quickly and was cooked as expected. The large mixed grill wasn’t the best or biggest, in fact more a standard size, but other than tasting a bit salty it was fine. Again the popadoms with the curry were very salty, again, the rest of the meal was fine. The lasagne was nice , but unfortunately the salad was absolutely swimming in dressing which was not appealing. The staff didn’t seem that friendly, but could just be that they were rushing about trying to keep up with orders. Not once did anyone come over and ask if everything was ok or if we needed anything. All in all, unfortunately I would not be rushing back again. Certainly not to hope for a beer or cold cider! This is the first time I have been for a meal in a pub and only had one drink, and that was a struggle.. but at £5.35 I wasn’t leaving it!”
