  “I paid my first visit to The Griffin this afternoon to celebrate my wedding anniversary. I had heard positive reviews locally from family and friends so I was keen to check it out. Very impressive. Tasty food, excellent service, a choice of dining area when booking and I was even given a complimentary cricket themed chocolate as a little anniversary treat. I’m definitely coming back!”

  “Disappointed! We have been to this restaurant before and were pleasantly surprised. Loved it , in fact. Not this time. Waited 55 minutes for our meals, we were not warned, a member of staff apologised, probably after realising how long it had been. Once food arrived, again so disappointing, we asked for a steak rare, when it arrived it was cremated. The staff were kind enough to bring us an additional portion of chips as the food was lacking. The chicken was slightly under cooked. Im really not sure why after the length of time it took to prepare the food, it still was not to a decent standard. We did not make a fuss, ate the food as it was given and got out. I appreciate it was a Sunny Saturday and the place was busy, but surely as an establishment you would prepare for that.”

  “We had a very nice Sunday roast today. The staff were excellent and very helpful. There is extensive gluten-free options on the Sunday menu and they cater very well for dietries it seems. We liked the fact that they walked around with top-ups of certain things like roast, potatoes and Yorkshire puddings. The serving size of meat could be larger, but overall it was a nice meal. Price point was at the top end too. It's strange that the business doesn't accept Amex, especially considering the location of the pub! A lovely experience with great staff and a nice atmosphere. Will definitely return.”
