About North Star Coffee Shop
North Star Coffee Shop is a coffee shop at Leeds Dock in Leeds, on Unit 32 The Blvd. The bar pours two contrasting espresso options alongside its own North Star filter coffees, and a mini store area sells beans, T-shirts and tote bags. The kitchen runs a brunch-style menu all day, including corn fritters served with a poached egg or mushrooms and breakfast butties made on foccaccia with bacon or kimchi. The bakes include a vegan banana bread. Drinks are brought to the table, and a private room is used for social meet-ups for groups. Dogs are welcome.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often come back to the brunch plates, with the sweetcorn fritters named repeatedly, served with a poached egg or mushrooms. Close behind are the grilled cheeses, including a kimchi version with bacon, the breakfast butty with bacon, and the vegetarian breakfast, which one reviewer found enormous. Bakes such as the vegan banana bread and morning bun get praise, and the coffee is described as smooth and high quality, with a Christmas blend that one reviewer bought more of. Others mention a white hot chocolate and fruity coffees. Staff are called lovely and welcoming, and drinks are brought to the table. The main reservations are that portions of drinks run small for the price, and one reviewer found the summer lemonade matcha not very nice. Another notes a favourite pork souvlaki grilled cheese is no longer made. Dog owners mention room for a dog to lie down by the table.

“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I'm legitimately blown away by the coffee quality, the food, and the staff. This is easily one of the best coffee and breakfast/brunch spots in the WORLD. If you rated this anything below 5 stars, you're crazy and need to be re-evaluated. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”

“We have been using the private room for a regular social meet up and every time we have been here the staff have been so incredibly attentive and accommodating. The food and drinks are delicious. The private room is comfortable and spacious. The venue is lovely. But it is the staff that make this a really lovely place for us to come. Thank you so much.”

“North star is my favourite brunch spot. My favourite dishes so far are the sweetcorn fritters (with a poached egg or mushrooms), the pork souvlaki grilled cheese (which is no longer being made 💔) and I just had their kimchi grilled cheese with bacon which was delightful! their newer hashbrowns are also really delicious, perfectly crispy and soft, and I really enjoy the new foccaccia that they're using on all of the butties. their bakes, particularly the vegan banana bread and their morning bun are my favourites as well, and pair perfectly with the coffee. I really enjoy fruity coffees and this is the perfect spot for that, and the docks in general is a really lovely place to stroll around. I also do love quality matcha, and they recently changed brands to a higher quality one and you can tell.”

“Came here to avoid the rain for a bit and to have a read of my book and I experienced such wonderful warm welcomes from everyone the moment I entered! Never before have I felt so welcomed in a coffee shop, usually they can be quite chaos and intense but here the staff instantly greeted me with a smile and even seated me to a table. Within 2 minutes someone took my order and in what felt like 1 minute the drink had already arrived! Very delicious coffee! And I even got a cookie too which was also delicious! I would definitely recommend. I would love to shoutout Mai who I had a brilliant chat with and I think she was a lovely cheery lady who wished me to have a great day! Would defo recommend coming here the staff are all so kind and the service is impeccable! Also the music was nice and calming not too loud either I was able to read comfortably whilst enjoying the music as well!”
