About The Barn Coffee Shop
The Barn Coffee Shop is a coffee shop in Leeds, on the grounds of Meanwood Valley Urban Farm. It focuses on speciality coffee, and every bit of its profit goes back into the local area, so a cup here supports the community around the farm. Coffee art and coffee tasting events sit alongside the daily drinks. The food side covers breakfast, including bacon sandwiches, plus soups and hot dishes. Flapjack and brownie come from the cake selection. Small live music gigs and Acoustic Nights are held in the barn itself.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the coffee, with one noting a musician praising it mid-set and another mentioning the coffee art and the tasting events they have attended twice. Close behind is the food, where the bacon sandwich, soups and a winter bourguignon get specific mention, along with breakfast sandwiches, hot food described as freshly cooked, flapjack, brownies and cakes. The staff come across as friendly and welcoming, and the farm setting is described as a lovely place for families. Acoustic nights and small gigs draw praise too, with one visitor driving a long way for the music. The one recurring caveat is cost, as a reviewer calls the prices a little on the high side while still finding the visit worthwhile. Several mention wanting to return, and one reviewer who discovered the place one day was back the next.

“I really want to give these guys at the Barn a shout out because the food never fails to be delicious, service is great and the atmosphere very nice. I can recommend the bacon sandwich, soups, and the current winter bourguignon is various, plentiful and absolutely delicious. The farm is a great place for all the family.”

“I visited The Barn for their Acoustic Nights. I knew just one artist and had a huge surprise on the opening act. Judging by the atmosphere, it seems that every month the “wow effect” is back. I drove 300 miles and don’t regret it. Food, coffee and staff at the Barn are as good and friendly as the music. Just go there!”

“I went to a small gig here last night, and was very impressed. They were doing hot food which was clearly freshly cooked and was delicious. We had flapjack and a brownie at the interval, and again both of those were great. My partner had a coffee, and said it was really nice. In fact the musician who was playing also commented to everyone how great the coffee was as he was drinking a cup during his set. So clearly on the coffee front they're doing well. All the staff were friendly and welcoming. Strongly recommended, and somewhere I'll certainly be going back to.”
