“My wife and I rarely venture out on a night these day, pubs and clubs are a thing of the past. But this visit was at the request of the daughter of a very good, late, friend of ours. A traditional type of pub, of which our room has been, so I believe, a previous concert room. This time it was just a DJ on the stage but there was a decent area on which to dance. That was if you didn't mind some youngsters using it as a playroom. A buffet was available, in a room off the main room, so plenty of room to move about. The bar staff cope well with the amount of patrons and the price of drink were reasonable. It was a night of catching up with old friends, some we hadn't seen for quite a while. We didn't stay until the end as we were tiring. As a function room in this pub no complaints. A decent car park and the gents toilets were reasonably clean. A good night in a good atmosphere.”

“The Springhead is a legendary live music venue. Previously voted one of the best music pubs in the country. This big pub has a wide choice of beers and lagers sadly no cask conditioned real ale. There is a function room, traditional bar with a pool table and concert room with a stage and bar. Outside there is a large secluded grassed beer garden with goal posts. Events are arranged in the summer I've been to a couple of classic motorcycles shows here. Friendly welcoming staff a good pub definitely worth a visit.”

“Celebrated a friend's 60th birthday here. Great atmosphere with excellent service from the bar staff. Only downside was the fact the place could really do with a bit of a facelift. Tired decor and a few damp issues on the walls and ceiling in the ladies toilets. However this didn't detract from a great evening of celebrations.”
