Customer Review Summary
Diners most often return to the food, with the pork belly steak and mash singled out alongside desserts of Eton Mess, apple pie and a Belgian chocolate brownie. Others praise a well presented, tasty salmon, a Rainbow Lasagne, generous portions and delicious cocktails, and several describe friendly, hard working staff and food that arrived in good time. Cask ale drinkers note a few ales on offer at competitive prices, and one reviewer says vouchers and offers make the menu better value. The complaints are specific and recur. Several describe long gaps before food or between courses, including a large group served well apart from one another, a bar worker called rude, and items unavailable with no apology. A couple of reviewers found staff looked unhappy to be there. Others report kitchen misses: a bacon chop served with a badly cooked egg and raw pineapple, and a burger that arrived with a rock hard bun and plain fries instead of the Cajun chips paid for.

“I had an Ember Inns voucher (£8 for main courses) so came here for lunch and a couple of pints. It's a very good pub for cask ale drinkers - 3 or 4 to choose from and the prices are very competitive. In terms of food I ordered the salmon, which was very well presented and tasty. I'd probably not pay full menu prices here but there are plenty of vouchers and offers available if you do a bit of research.”

“Miserable staff. Everyone was served 40 min apart. Waited over an hour. For a Thursday 7pm. Bar man rude and angry. Didn't even have half the stuff I tried to order..never ever coming again. 7 of us came...what a joke. No apology or information..meat all stiff ... they were not even busy......ceaser salad taking 90min and bring sauce 10 min after being served what the hell!!!!!”

“Was full, mainly outside enjoying the sun. Waited 35 minutes for our food. I paid extra for Cajun chips and just wanted lettuce on the burger. I got normal fries if want to call them that was just scraps and a rock hard burger bun with nothing on. Husband enjoyed is but we won't be returning.”
