About Wunderbar
Wunderbar is a cocktail bar in Glasgow's city centre at 28 Springfield Ct, built around bier keller culture. The bar spreads across two levels, and each floor has its own music, so grassroots live acts play both upstairs and downstairs. The drinks list pairs international biers with signature cocktails, and live sports are shown as well. Food comes from Frank's, with pizza and sides such as chicken tenders. Big tables downstairs give groups room to sit together. Cocktail deals run early in the week.

Customer Review Summary
Door staff are the most common complaint at Wunderbar. Several reviewers describe being refused entry or ordered out with little or no explanation, including a birthday group with a reserved drinks package who were turned away at the door and a family member sent out after conflicting directions from different bouncers. Others report a table reservation that was not honoured, with a group told to move minutes after sitting down, and a bartender who snapped at a customer over a cocktail request while loud music made conversation difficult.

“Wunderbar is a great spot for a night out in Glasgow! It has a fantastic atmosphere, great music, and a stylish interior that makes the place stand out. Whether you're in the mood for cocktails, dancing, or simply having a good time, Wunderbar is definitely worth checking out. A great place to enjoy Glasgow's nightlife!”

“Believe all of the comments about the issues with bouncers because we experienced the exact same. Also a girl tried to steal my handbag. We were at a big table downstairs and I noticed her pick it up and put my jacket over to cover the bag when she was leaving. Thankfully I noticed before she left with it. Not a fun experience!”

“Bouncers are seriously a joke!! After being allowed entry and directed up stairs, another bouncer directed myself down stairs to join the rest of my party. I went to go down stairs before being confronted with another bouncer, I told them this bouncer told me to go down stairs. They then told me to get out. I had several conversations with the bouncers trying to reason with them, they didn’t listen. This is the second time I’ve been to this place and the last, the treatment was unbelievably confusing and hostile. The fact that the bouncers are known for this treatment raises more concerns, they quickly flipped the script to me being confrontational, which I will admit I had been after going back and forth with 3 bouncers who refused to listen. However the treatment of myself shouldn’t be ignored, due to the ill guidance of 2 bouncers I was denied a special moment with family who are set to depart the country. I want this raised to the highest point of authority. I’ve never had worst treatment in my life. I will not enter any of the corresponding venues again, I’d recommend the same to others.”

“AVOID FOR EVENTS Absolutely disgraceful experience. We had booked a table for 10 people to celebrate a 30th birthday and had already paid £110 in advance for a reserved drinks package. We arrived excited for what should have been a special night, only for the door staff to refuse us entry without giving us any proper explanation. The attitude of the door staff was shocking. They were rude, dismissive and completely unwilling to explain their decision. Instead of treating paying customers with basic respect, they made us feel like we didn’t matter. We repeatedly asked why we were being refused entry and received no meaningful answer. What makes this even worse is that this wasn’t just a casual night out—it was someone’s 30th birthday, and the whole evening had been planned around this booking. The door staff completely ruined what should have been a memorable celebration. It’s incredibly upsetting to have spent money in advance, organised a group of 10 people, and then be left standing outside with no explanation and having to find somewhere else at the last minute. Taking customers’ money and then refusing them entry without a clear reason is unacceptable. The lack of professionalism, respect and customer service from the door staff was appalling. We will never be returning, and I certainly wouldn’t recommend anyone risk booking here for an important occasion.”

“Insanely rude bar staff. I went with 2 friends of mine who are both hard of hearing/have hearing aids and we went there around 5.30/6pm. Upstairs was so loud we tried downstairs but the music made it difficult to hear ourselves speak never mind the bartender, who had very little warmth or patience to start with. I have no idea what the need is for music to be that loud on both levels at that time of the day. My friend can’t have passionfruit, and she also struggles with her sight so I was having to read the menu out to her. Had the bartender given us some time and patience, maybe this could’ve worked out better. I suggested to my friend maybe removing the passionfruit part of the cocktail, but never heard the bartender say that wasn’t possible. When I relayed it to the bartender, they then completely snapped at me and this was really unprofessional. What’s worse is that, because I can read lips, I saw the bartender gossiping about this to female bar staff much later on when that friend of mine was ordering another drink. Normally when you leave an establishment in Scotland, it’s polite to thank the staff, who in turn should also thank you. All 3 of us thanked the bar staff on our way out despite such a horrible and unprofessional experience, and they completely ignored us (as in they saw us, but chose not to respond). If such small situations like that stress you out as a bartender, where loud music is playing and it’s hard to hear people, then you are in the wrong job. There was nobody else waiting for drinks at that time — the bar was virtually empty. If there was a queue forming, I would’ve had more understanding for them snapping at us the way they did. Beware of the person with long purple-coloured hair — incredibly rude and unprofessional, and clearly has no patience for a job where you need more than they showed. They didn’t have a Scottish accent, sounded something like Australian. I can only hope they wouldn’t have acted that way if they were aware of our accessibility needs. I could’ve looked past this if they didn’t choose to gossip about us to other staff so long after the fact. Very immature. First and last time in Wunderbar. Wish I had read the reviews beforehand.”
