About NQ64 Arcade Bar - Glasgow

NQ64 Arcade Bar - Glasgow is a basement cocktail bar on Bell St in Glasgow, fitted with retro arcade machines, consoles and pinball tables, including Stern Deadpool and Jurassic Park. Most games take 2 tokens and older ones take 1, and a claw machine sits among them. The cocktail menu is built around retro and gaming references, with the deadshot daiquiri among the drinks, and mocktails and other non-alcoholic options sit alongside beers, wines, spirits and sodas. Neon and UV lighting and glow-in-the-dark paint splatters give the room a late 90s retro look, and booths and tables give players somewhere to set drinks down. The bar opens daily and runs late, taking online bookings as well as walk-ins. A one-hour package includes 2 blue tokens for drinks.

Customer Review Summary

Reviewers come for the retro arcade and console games, with a spread that includes fighting, dance and shooting machines, a 1991 Simpsons cabinet and recent Deadpool and Jurassic Park pinball tables. Themed cocktails are close behind, and reviewers name the superstar martini and the deadshot daiquiri, alongside mocktails described as lovely. One reviewer was pleased that the venue still has its own lager. Several describe friendly, chatty bar staff, including one who offered non-alcoholic options and changed ingredients for a dietary need. The neon, glow-in-the-dark paint and late 90s retro look draw praise, and a few call the vibe chill. The caveats are small but specific. One reviewer found the pinball way out of level, another called the cocktails very sweet, and one noted the arcade is spread out so it can feel tight in places. Another found Black Ops 2 on the Xbox 360 missing Nuketown. Tokens are mostly two per game, with older ones at one, and one group had loads left after an hour package. One couple left with a capybara plush won on the claw machine.

“I’m starting this review by saying I had no problems whatsoever with the door staff, quite the chill black dude. Ordered the superstar martini and the deadshot daiquiri (because it is a zombie perk although it doesn’t look at all like the perk). Taste wise it was okay, not too bad and very sweet. The Black Ops 2 on the Xbox 360 somehow had the dlc but not Nuketown????? One star. Don’t bother coming. Just kidding, overall quite the nice evening. Had a fun time playing the arcade games with the family.”

“Was in Glasgow for a couple of days and thought I'd pay my favourite bar a visit. Never been to the Glasgow Nq64 before but having been to their Newcastle one many times and also the Edinburgh location I knew pretty much what to expect. I wasn't disappointed. The staff were helpful and efficient as is usually the case in the Nq64 bars. Such a great selection of arcade and console games as at the other venues along with a nice selection of their own cocktails. As a bonus I understand this is one of only two Nq64 locations still to have their own lager. Didn't even know it existed until I came to this one. Note: I left a rating for the food blank as I didn't eat when I was there so it's not applicable.”

“Visited for the first time a few days ago with my husband and had a great time! Fantastic selection of games to play, some really nostalgic ones. Everything was working fine on our visit, no issues with any of the machines like I'd read on other reviews. The venue seemed clean and well maintained. The bar staff were very friendly and chatty. The drinks were great, loved all the different themed cocktails. My husband won me a capybara plush on the claw machine just before we left so that was a great end to our night 😂 We don't get out for dates very often due to having 3 kids with disabilities at home, but we look forward to visiting again when we get the chance! Great place 😊”
