About Devil of Brooklyn
Devil of Brooklyn is a cocktail bar at 42 Renfield St in Glasgow that runs as a cafe during the day and turns to cocktails later. The menu includes a design-your-own option listed as "Limbo", where guests build a drink around a favourite spirit. Classics sit alongside it, among them an absinthe old fashioned and a Cucumber Gibson. Draught beers and a whisky selection round out the bar. The daytime menu covers coffee, tea and morning pastries, with a small food menu of sandwiches and salad rolls. The decor mixes shabby chic pieces with an indie touch, and music plays in the background. Service is at the table only, so guests are seated and drinks come to them.

Customer Review Summary
Cocktails are the main draw, with reviewers singling out an absinthe old fashioned, a Cucumber Gibson, the Hera and Hermes, and a cosmopolitan, margarita and mojito. The "Limbo" option, which builds a drink around a favourite spirit, is called a lovely touch, and the whisky selection and draught beers also get mentions. Close behind is the setting, described as beautiful, cozy and chilled out, with quirky decor and good background music. Staff come up repeatedly as friendly and knowledgeable. By day it works as a cafe, where reviewers mention a smooth flat white, a salmon sandwich and fresh morning pastries. The caveats are modest. Drinks are called pricey, and one reviewer found a whisky flip lacking in depth of flavour. One found table service only a little annoying, while another worried about it and then said there was no need. On a Saturday daytime visit, others were turned away once the bar reached capacity. One reviewer notes the staff stayed patient while they waited for a friend to arrive.
