Customer Review Summary
Cocktails are the main draw, with the famous jolly rancher singled out as lovely by two reviewers and others describing reasonably priced, well-prepared drinks in decent-sized glasses. The beer garden comes close behind, described as huge with loads of outside seating and a DJ who brings in a good crowd, though one reviewer finds the atmosphere a bit too studenty. Bar staff are called kind and attentive by several. Complaints centre on deals and cleanliness. Reviewers call the advertised deals deceptive: no pizza available, none of the advertised house lager, extra charges for sauce and garnishes on a burger, and a weekday-deal margarita described as the worst one a reviewer has had. Others report puddles on the floor, tissue strewn across the toilet floor with a plugged sink, a filthy table, and a smell, with one saying the bar has lost its way. One reviewer says a double was poured after being asked whether they wanted a single or double, and the refund did not cover the difference.

“Came here from Canada. Heard good things. Wasn’t impressed. Deals advertised are deceptive. They charge extra for sauce, garnishments, etc on a burger. Service was terrible and table was filthy. Small portions as well. Can walk up the road to botanic gardens and get a burger for half price. Save your money. Cool atmosphere that’s about it.”

“got charged £18.90 for a cider and a single rum and diet coke. then realised they had poured me a double even though they asked me if i wanted a single or double, then refunded me £4.50 which is not the price of a double nor is £16.40 reasonable for a cider and a single rum and diet coke. my friends both got the same drink and were charged more than £2 different. don’t know if they banked on us being drunk on a friday night but we were not and this is unacceptable.”

“Drinks were absolutely lovely, staff were kind too. Prices weren’t too bad but glasses were a decent size for cocktails so can’t complain! Would definitely come here again, we went on a Thursday though so it wasn’t as busy.”
