About Black Horse
Black Horse is a pub on Longbrook St in Exeter, with live sport and pub games at the heart of the visit. Sky and TNT Sports play on big screens, so people can follow the matches while they drink and eat. Pool and darts are available for anyone who wants to play, and a quiz night is part of the line-up too. The bar serves real ales alongside a variety of beer and cider on tap. In the kitchen, burgers and mac and cheese sit next to sharing plates such as Korean chicken. Dogs are welcome inside.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often point to the atmosphere and the bar staff, with several calling the pub a new local and describing friendly service behind the bar. Pool and darts, a quiz described as brilliant, and sport on the screens give people plenty to do. The beer and cider selection on tap draws praise too, though one real ale visitor found the ales good but not to their liking and settled on the Yardbird, which was ok. Food earns strong remarks. One diner calls the mac and cheese the best they have had, another rates the burger among the best they have eaten, and a returning visitor enjoyed Korean chicken and smashed potato sharing plates in the quiet, spacious garden. The main complaint comes from a long-time regular, who says bouncers removed their group during an England tournament over alleged swearing, which they felt was unfair. Another visitor notes that lunch arrived quickly and hot.

“First visit to The Black Horse and to be honest, we only visited because we had been given a gift voucher but we enjoyed a good lunch and a couple of drinks. Very quiet when we arrived but got busier before we left. Food served quickly and hot, great bar service. Only 1 member of staff and didn't get the guys name but really welcoming and pleasant.”

“A fantastic pub with a great atmosphere. Molly was absolutely the best and helped me plan my trip through the Moors. It's the kind of place you come to England to find.”

“We’ve been kicked out for supporting England too much the bouncers have ego problems me and my group of friends who Will spend thousands of pounds each over the course of the tournament have been kicked out due to the ego of the bouncers. They’ve decided to employ stay away if you fancy having an actually good time they made up some bollocks about us swearing and kicked us out after drinking here for years would not recommend.”

“Really cosy pub with a great atmosphere in the evenings. The quiz was brilliant as well. The girl behind the bar, think her name was Ceriann, was lovely and really made the place feel welcoming. Definitely be coming back.”
