About Alaburrito
Alaburrito is a Mexican cafe at 350 Morningside Rd in Edinburgh, and it also provides catering. The menu includes a chicken and haggis burrito, which puts a Scottish filling inside a Mexican format. Nachos serve as a starter, and the drinks list includes margaritas in flavoured and spicy versions. Customers place orders at a kiosk ordering screen. The restaurant is small with limited seating, and gluten-free options are available on the menu.

Customer Review Summary
Burritos draw the most praise at this small Mexican spot, with the beef burrito recommended by two reviewers and a chicken and haggis version called very tasty. Quesadillas, chicken tacos and nachos also earn mentions, along with fresh ingredients, generous portions and gluten free options. Margaritas come up often and are called strong and yummy, though one reviewer found the pineapple flavour barely noticeable and another found the spicy one too hot. Staff are repeatedly described as friendly and kind. The most serious complaint comes from one evening when the nachos arrived cold with sparse toppings. After a long wait, those diners were told the chicken and veggie burrito bowls had run out and were asked to leave, though they were not charged. Another reviewer felt a restaurant this small does not need an ordering kiosk and wished for more seating. Staff offered one diner a lime jaritos on the house, and a pot of cheese for visiting dogs earns its own praise.

“Really great food - I love their burritos and quesadillas. They are a go to takeaway for me, I often order to pickup through deliveroo and its always been exceptional. The only thing I will say is the staff always seem anxious that I am annoyed the food is late when they are taking a perfectly adequate time to cook it. I think this is because deliveroo sets the pickup time as 10-15 minutes after I order. I have received profuse apologies from a staff member for my food taking 25 minutes. However, I think this is a completely normal amount of time to wait in a restaurant. I had the same experience ordering at the kiosk and I asked about my food after 15 minutes since I didn’t receive a ticket from the machine. The staff immediately began apologising for it being late. I would like you to know that you do a wonderful job and I never feel like your food is taking long :) If I was to change anything, I dont think a restaurant this small needs an ordering screen/kiosk. I also think there is not enough seating however I understand the restaurant is very constrained by size of building.”

“Went to this small Mexican restaurant for lunch, amazing food and lovely staff. The cocktails were strong, the spicy margaritas was a bit too spicy for me, the staff offered me a lime jaritos on the house which was really kind. Would definitely recommend!”

“Quick service and tasty food! We love starting and finishing our time in Edinburgh with a trip to Ala Burrito. The food is so fresh, our personal favourites are the nachos and honey cake and especially the pot of cheese for special well behaved doggy visitors! Always leave feeling well fed and looked after.”

“Authentic and tasty burritos loaded with fresh ingredients. Thank you to the young gentleman who served me through the night after a long and arduous ultramarathon. True customer service with a smile and, after seeing that they have a storefront in Edinburgh, I will definitely be back to try more of their menu. 100% recommend the beef burrito!”
