Customer Review Summary
Fish dishes draw the most praise, led by the baked sea bass, an enormous whole fish served with vegetables, tapenade and salsa. Reviewers also name pan roasted cod with a creamy lobster veloute and Thai fish cakes. Close behind are the lobster burger and ravioli, both a homemade ravioli of the day and a seafood version. Also mentioned are the peach salad, calamari, octopus, lobster bisque and chips crisp outside and soft within. Service is mostly called attentive and friendly, but one diner celebrating a birthday says the waiter walked away without a word, attention was hard to get, and they had to get up to find someone to pay. One reviewer notes the lunch menu is limited. Another had potatoes swapped for a side at no extra charge, and a parent was told any dish could be made in a smaller portion for a toddler.

“Lovely meal with great service. We were a party of four, and our starters and mains were uniformly excellent. The coeliac in our party had an outstanding set of menu choices, with the majority of dishes being available gluten-free. The peach salad starter was really delicious, and deserves a special mention, as does the main of baked sea bass. It was an enormous whole fish, very meaty, with a delicious accompaniment of vegetables, tapenade and salsa. Really terrific, and highly recommended.”

“Finally some FOOD!! Really fine and yet comforting. 10/10 recommend!! The fish was tender and succulent, featuring an interesting olive paste filling (a playful touch!). It was served on a bed of a chutney-like mixture (I’m guessing wild garlic, spinach, or basil?) alongside sugar snap peas, zucchini, bok choy, and potatoes. The flavors were perfectly balanced and harmonious, yet offered interesting accents. Every component was spot-on—neither too soft nor too firm—and tasted very fresh. For the price, it was absolutely the best you could ask for. Great!”

“I have been to First Coast a few times over the years and generally they have been very good. Today my experience stood out - hence the review. Though they do not have a kid's menu, as soon as I showed up for lunch with my 4 yr old toddler the server kindly informed me that they can make anything on the menu in a smaller portion. The service was really good overall - attentive without being overwhelming. All good - but, I need to flag the excellent creamy lobster veloute that accompanied the pan roasted cod. That was heavenly - not easy to make it light and flavourful, but compliments to the chef on this iteration. The laid back atmosphere is also a winner.”

“Let me start by saying the food was fantastic. We had the lobster burger, calamari, and the octopus, and we were not disappointed — everything was delicious and cooked perfectly. Sadly, the service was a bit of a struggle. We came to celebrate my birthday and mentioned it to the waiter, but they walked away without a second word. For the rest of the evening, we found it difficult to get any attention and felt somewhat forgotten in the corner. After finally managing to flag down a second waiter for the bill, we had to wait even longer to pay, which ended with me getting up to find someone so we could settle it. Overall, the food was excellent, but the service experience unfortunately didn’t match the quality of the meal.”

“We had a delicious dinner at First Coast. It looks like a fancy restaurant, but the prices are actually quite reasonable. We had the sea bass and a seafood ravioli, and started with a lobster bisque — everything was really tasty. The staff were attentive, polite, and very professional. We would definitely recommend this place.”
