Customer Review Summary
The caveats are about consistency. Reviewers found the seabass, grilled fish and chicken skewer slightly dry or overdone, one did not take to the mousakka, and one thought the dessert could be better. The room is busy, with one reviewer noting a draught and another saying anything beyond a straightforward order, like adding a side dish, seemed to confuse the staff. One party was seated after a wait on a packed night, and a graduation diner was given a complimentary dessert.

“Food was good quality. Lebenese coffee was amazing. Dessert could be better. Louise gave us service and it was excellent.”

“Sofia’s is a great place to eat! The food is well prepared, delicious, and healthy. My wife and I each had Classico Koko one day, and shared Mezze for two another day, both excellent dishes. We especially enjoyed the Mezze. The wait staff is great, too, friendly and attentive. Louise, Amber, and Abbie were helpful and delightful.”

“Popped in here with a pal for a bite to eat. We both had the "Hurricane" burger. This is a lamb burger with Turkish (or I'm sure the owners will say Lebanese) sausage , tomato and garlic sauce. Absolutely delicious! I also had a very generous Lebanese coffee with came in a delightful clay serving pot and was nicely flavoured. Recommended!”

“Sofia's is a welcomed retreat for the weary traveller. Tucked inside a Hampton by Hilton, the high quality of its food makes it a destination rather than the afterthought of a large economy hotel. We were staying for three nights and came to Sofia's on the first night as we were too tired to go out. We got the specials: the lamb shank, the mixed grill, and the seabass. The lamb shank was rich and tender with meat sliding off the bone. The skewers of the mixed grill were amazing, each so well seasoned. The chicken skewer leaned a bit dry as normal. The seabass was well seasoned, but a bit dry. But, it was so good, we came back on the third night. Once again, the place was packed. Still, they remembered us and got us seated within 40 minutes. This time we got the lamb chops, which were generous and well seasoned. I got the sujuk kafta meshwi as those were my favorites of the mixed grill and they were amazing. It's such a treat to have such good Lebanese food on trip, especially in Edinburgh. The prices were quite reasonable as well, about 20-24 per platter. They also had burgers for 15, but I didn't see anyone order those.”

“Excellent cuisine. My first occasion to try "Lebanese Street Food." The place was absolutely packed (good for them, eh?) but anything other than a straightforward order (like adding a side dish) seemed to confuse them. Marimar was a gracious server.”
