Customer Review Summary
Diners most often single out the friendly, efficient service, with several calling the staff lovely, and the classic Italian cooking, naming the sirloin in brandy sauce, the tiramisu, melon and parma ham, the Pollo Cleopatra, and a sea bass special with bruschetta. Reviewers describe a small, lively, warm room that gets loud in a good way, and one says the food is exactly as served in Italy. One notes the menu has plenty of vegetarian and vegan options, and another suggests booking ahead because the venue is small. The main criticism centres on the pizza. One diner called the bases frozen and like anaemic cardboard, and a takeaway customer described two pizzas as frozen margarita bases with a little ham on top, both judging them poor value. A third reviewer found one visit's food below earlier ones, and another wished for nicer wine glasses. One reviewer says a waiter spilled a coffee a little, then took it back to the kitchen and returned it with a topping added.

“Only fault I would give the full experience was the wine glass!! I recommend nicer wine glasses! Not a deal breaker at all but wine tastes nicer from a nicer glass. Food is great :)”

“I really wanted this to be good. I ate there about 15 years ago and have never been back. However, I'm a firm believer in neighbourhood restos and it is still there, with customers, so we gave it a go. The food was utterly appalling. It was all tasteless but the biggest crime were the Pizza bases, which must have been frozen, with all the charm of anaemic cardboard. The house red was good and cheap. Our two course meal for three came to over £99...Outrageous for such a poor offering!”

“Great little Italian restaurant with very friendly waitstaff. My wife had the Pollo Cleopatra and I had the Sea Bass special, with the Bruscetta appetizer and chocolate ice cream for dessert. Everything was excellent. Definitely recommend.”

“Small very lively restaurant. Ladies toilet is small and you need to navigate/squeeze through two doors! The food can be excellent. Today's wasn't as good as we've had in the past. Service is excellent with lovely people. Parking is not easy but if you're patient and go round there block a couple of times you may find paid on street parking on the main road.”

“The food was fantastic. They have a lot of vegetarian and vegan friendly options. If you’re an Indian tourist like me, definitely check it out (no, they have not paid for this review). Here is a spotless plate from my meal!”
