What reviewers say
Reviewers most often mention cacio e pepe, focaccia, lamb fritters/croquette and burrata.
Customer Review Summary
The cacio e pepe draws the most praise, described by reviewers as outstanding and rich and peppery, with one diner adding truffle elevated it, and another pairing it with pappardelle in crab bisque called divine. Close behind, the burrata and focaccia get repeated mentions, along with lamb fritters and lamb croquette starters and zeppole. Cocktails come up often too, with one reviewer singling out the negroni as well balanced. Several describe the staff as friendly and the space as cosy, and one reviewer notes a Michelin Bib mention. On the downside, portions draw recurring complaint, with one reviewer calling the lamb fritters "a very small plate of 3 bites" and another saying portions suit sharing rather than a full meal; one diner also found a main too salty, though staff resolved it, and another found the pasta "just fine and a bit boring" served in what they called a cereal bowl. One reviewer recommends reserving the bar counter seat for watching the kitchen work. Several reviewers mention returning after a dish or issue was addressed by staff before they left.

“Went for the lunch set menu, got a ‘snack’ focaccia and starter and main. Snack focaccia with the creamy cheesy dip and basil oil was excellent. The arancini starter was delicious (very hot! Let it cool for a bit!) as was the smoked mussel …”

“Really impressed with Tipo. I reserved a seat at the bar counter which made the whole experience — great atmosphere watching everything come together, and the service was spot on throughout. Started with a negroni which was so good I ended up having a second. Really well balanced and easy drinking. The burrata was excellent — super fresh and creamy, paired with a really flavourful sauce and great quality focaccia. For mains, the cacio e pepe was outstanding. Perfectly cooked pasta, rich and peppery, and the addition of truffle just elevated it without overpowering the dish. Also worth mentioning the small details — proper towels in the bathroom was a really nice touch and adds to the overall experience. Would definitely return and highly recommend.”

“Another great experience at Tipo. All staff were really friendly and knowledgeable ( special thanks for our waitress woman with blond hair. Who was very welcoming and also very funny and made us laugh a lot ) The star down is for main meal which was bit too salty for our palette but the staff resolved the issue really professionally. We will be definitely back and I can highly recommend to reserve table and visit this restaurant”
