Customer Review Summary
Pasta is what reviewers praise most, from the scallop pasta and lasagne to large plates described as full of flavor. The pepperoni pizza and a steak with Diane sauce come close behind. The late kitchen comes up repeatedly, with one party eating at 11PM and another finding it open until 1am after shopping. Several also single out the weekday set lunch, one mentioning a bottle of red wine and dessert, and another praising the chicken and mushroom main course. Staff are called friendly and welcoming, and one reviewer suggests a Frangelico after the meal. The criticism is limited. One reviewer found the food and drinks only acceptable and the visit fairly average, with nothing memorable. Another was first turned away because staff said they were only taking bookings. A server then chased that group down the street, found them a table, and checked in throughout the evening as the friends celebrated an engagement.

“Absolute city centre gem! We didn’t have a reservation, but the staff were incredibly accommodating and managed to get us a table right away. The lunch special—complete with a bottle of red wine and dessert—offered unbeatable value. Everything was fabulous from start to finish. Highly recommend”

“To our surprise, there were hardly any kitchens still open after we finished shopping, but luckily we found this gem open until 1am. ✨ The portions were incredibly generous and everything was delicious. The steak was cooked to perfection with a rich, tasty Diane sauce, and the scallop pasta was absolutely amazing. 😍 A special mention to Mimmo for the top-tier service — he looked after us so well. Highly recommended if you’re in the area! ❤️🍝🥩”

“£12.50 for a three-course meal is an incredible deal—you'd struggle to find prices like this even five years ago. The food ranges from good to very good, with the chicken and mushroom main course being absolutely outstanding and easily deserving five stars. What impressed me even more is that there’s no service charge. Given the quality of the food, the excellent value, and the level of service, I was more than happy to leave a tip. The staff were exceptionally friendly and took the time to explain the menu in detail, despite us looking very much like tourists. Their warm hospitality made the experience even better. Highly recommended if you're looking for a delicious and affordable three-course lunch in Edinburgh.”

“A nice atmosphere and a convenient location, making it a decent place to stop by in Edinburgh. The staff were polite, and the overall experience was okay. However, nothing particularly stood out to make the visit memorable. The food and drinks were acceptable, but the overall experience felt fairly average compared to other places in the area. It’s not a bad place by any means, but there is definitely room for improvement.”

“Had dinner here this week and it was delicious. Service quick and very welcoming. We both had pasta dishes - large portions and full of flavor. Would definitely dine here again when we return to the area.”
