  “A great place to get out of the hustle and bustle of the tourism on the main street. If you're feeling a little overwhelmed and need a place to reset, try out this place. I actually find it quite neat that they let people place dollars on the ceiling from around the world. It's like getting to leave your own little mark on the place, and see the memories of others. Keep in mind though - this place doesn't allow for children to be on-site. A welcome reprieve for those without kids, but something to note for tourists with kids in tow.”

  “Didn't try a lot of food, but the steak pie we had was very good. Great atmosphere, drinks and entertainment a plenty. We stopped in more than once and always enjoyed ourselves!”

  “On a recent visit to Edinburgh, I popped into this place to meet a couple of friends in the late afternoon. What a wonderful pub! I loved the atmosphere and it’s the kind of place that I feel totally at home in - excellent staff who were very friendly, a great energy in the pub, music playing in the background and customers who you can have a friendly banter with! We also stayed and listened to the live music too which was came on before we headed off to dinner, a huge bonus! Thanks for a very positive experience. I’d highly recommend this place, the manager is doing a top notch job here! 😍🎶😎”

  “I was in Edinburgh for 5 nights and ended up spending every single night right here. The atmosphere is that good! The team behind the bar are absolute legends—they made me feel like a local from night one. I met so many great people and had the best time. If you want a place in Edinburgh that feels like home with the best vibes and even better staff, this is the only spot you need. Can't wait to come back!"”

  “We had the best afternoon here last Sunday. The lady behind the bar was so lovely welcoming and friendly. The pubs atmosphere was the best I've ever known. The guy who came on to sing at 5pm was absolutely brilliant and very interactive making everyone smile and feel together. It was our ruby wedding anniversary and we got a shout out and a song played for us to have a wee dance while everyone cheered and congratulated us. I've never felt so welcome anywhere. And just to put the icing on the cake they even had gluten free ale and with me being coeliac it was such a treat. Cannot wait to come back next time we're in Edinburgh. Thank you for a brilliant experience and memories I'll keep forever.”

  “Lovely little pub. Have dropped by here twice on a pub crawl and have loved it each time. Very much an old school, homey pub which is great for both locals and tourists. Staff have been lovely each time and catered to a large group well. Music was also good on both occasions. That being said, for tourists, they take tips in forms of international notes which you can sign and they will put it on the ceiling for display. This is such a cool concept and something else to add to the places novelty for looking up at all the different places.”

  “The Scotsman Lounge is one of several pubs on Cockburn St and is worth a visit. Decor is traditional one a small are is given over for live musicians - there were two in the short time I was there. There also several tables outside for when the sun shines. Good selection of cask conditioned ales and spirits. Can't comment on food as was in for a couple of beers before a curry! 😀 Service is nice and friendly.”
