About The Banshee Labyrinth
The Banshee Labyrinth is a haunted-themed bar in Edinburgh, set in underground vaults beneath the bridges in the old town at 29-35 Niddry St. The venue is a labyrinth of connected rooms and bars with nooks to explore, and a cinema sits among them. Stories of hauntings run through the theme. Live bands and gigs bring rock, metal and punk, and the music nights also reach into rave. At the bar, the cocktails include a Zombie, and the shooters include the brain damage. Non-alcoholic drinks include Old Mout pineapple and raspberry.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often describe the labyrinth itself, a haunted-themed run of rooms and nooks in the underground vaults beneath the bridges, which one visitor calls the most unique bar they have been to. Rock and metal come close behind, with gigs from local and foreign bands, punk and rave nights, and a few recommending it to anyone into that music. Drinks draw mixed notes. The shooters are called delicious and diverse, with the brain damage shooter a favourite, while the cocktails are called lovely by some and great but not the best by another. One diner said a Zombie cocktail tasted suspiciously like a sex on the beach. Another praised the non-alcoholic options, including old mout pineapple and raspberry. Staff are mostly described as friendly, though one reviewer met a grumpy server who seemed tired, and one says it got quite crowded. The decor is called tacky in the most fun way, and a small cinema room let one group watch a film over a couple of beers. One visitor left with a barman's pick of a soft smoked scotch whisky.

“Cocktails are lovely! And if you’re into paranormal things I’d recommend, definitely feels heavier when you step inside. Music: if you’re into rock/metal definitely will be the place for you! Remember! Keep your shoes on🤣”

“Not sure what we expected but were surprised nonetheless, really cool bar/pub with a haunted/spooky vibe throughout. Literally a labyrinth going from room to room, and got quite crowded but there weren't that many people in there. I'd say worth it to at least check it out, easily the most unique bar I've ever been to.”

“Fun place, lots of nooks to explore. Fun, silly shows. Mostly great staff; pretty sure the grumpy, death glare, eye lash girl was just quite tired. Beware the sit to wee bathroom though, It's pretty scary.”

“We had good time having a drink at the top bar. We also had a walk along the labyrinth of bars. Nice place with good vibes. The barman in the picture recommended me a beautiful soft smoked scotch whisky. He told me it was a good one not very expensive. I would appreciate if you could share the name as I didn't write it down. Thanks!”
