  “I was there on Saturday 27 July with two friends. We ordered 2 x Fish and Chips and a Bacon and Cheese Burger. 2 Pints of Lager and a Vodka and Coke. The bill was almost £100. Im still trying to work out how it came to that price. When the burger arrived there was no bacon and it was cold. Obviously it was lying waiting for chips as they were hot. Will not be back and could have had better and cheaper elsewhere.”

  “Amazing food and even better service! 🍷 ​We visited this restaurant and Nadia was our waitress, she was wonderful. Super friendly, attentive, and efficient throughout the whole meal.   “Our friends recommend the Mitre to us. It's one of their favorite places to eat in Edinburgh so we decided to give it a try. It was busy being Sunday evening but were quickly seated. My wife ordered a latte immediately while we were looking at the menu. After about 15 minutes our server came back to take our order but forgot to bring back the latte. She took our order and brought back her latte which was barely warm and no sugar. My wife has to go get her own sugar. Our main courses arrived. I had the chicken pie while my wife had the steak. Both pies had a wonderful presentation so we were hoping they tasted just as good as they looked. Unfortunately the taste was just ordinary. Nothing spectacular... overall the meal was ok...”

  “Our wintry walk through Edinburgh was warmed with whiskies, friendly welcomes, delicious meals, and an amazing array of ciders, colorful martinis, and beers at the Mitre Bar. This is one of our favorite spots in Edinburgh. The city is always wonderful to explore, and the Mitre Bar quickly became a beloved spot to relax with delectable drinks and food. It has tables for meals like dinner, as well as small tables up front near the bar and entrance. Definitely visit the Mitre Bar! Thank you to their amazing team! We can’t wait to return.”

  “So so good. We came on lunch time with no reservation but found a seat pretty quickly. The food was really nice, the fish and chips soft and tender. The burger was also really good. Also get the local beers as they are really tasty. Edit: came back 6 months later in Feb. It's still as good. This time a reservation was needed. The food is good and so are the beers but it's pricy for sure.”

  “Place is nice but the workers lied about the kitchen being closed, and then didn’t inform my boyfriend the drink he was ordering me had an alcoholic and non-alcoholic version. Food- Came for food, but the workers there told us that the kitchen closes at 1800, and we couldn’t get food. Drinks- Ordered a rekorderlig strawberry lime as shown with the menu photo. Menú said it has 0.0% alcohol in it. My boyfriend read the label of the bottle after I had drank 1/3 of it already to find it had 3.4% alcohol. I ordered this drink because I am pregnant, and can’t drink alcohol….. so rather upset that I ordered what was advertised as alcohol free, to later find out it had alcohol. (No I didn’t read the label when I got it, because I didn’t think I needed Service- The bar tenders were very friendly, and quick to serve. One of the guys saw me taking a photo of the place, and even posed for me without me knowing. Atmosphere- Very beautiful bar, well maintained. Enjoyed my time here, and my boyfriend loved that the tables catered to his large height.”

  “Popped in for a pint and a bit of food and it didn’t disappoint. Nice pint of Guinness, fairly priced too. Was advised there’d be a bit of a wait for food when ordering, but it was well worth it. Pleasant staff behind the jump.”

  “Great discovery while visiting Edinburgh for Christmas week! We were with our dog and decided to eat here when we found out it was pet friendly. We enjoyed it so much we came back a couple more times. Great food, friendly staff and great service even on busier days.”

  “Beautiful pub but incredulous slow service, no water offered, didn’t come back to see how the food was incl the toughest and smallest 27 pound steak I have ever seen! Fish and chips was better but couldn’t eat 1/4 of the fish as it was deep fried to the point of no return. No dessert offered and bbq had to go back to the bar to get our own beer refills and pay our dinner bill!”
