  “Went for Sunday teatime with visiting friends. Lovely place, absolutely spotless everywhere. Staff very friendly, took our order and food arrived within a few minutes. They are licensed and have 3 different draught beers. Fish and chips were amazing, very light and crispy batter and large portions. Other non fish items are also available. Sides included mushy or garden peas, curry sauce, bread and butter. A truly enjoyable experience.”

  “I support an elderly lady and we started coming over a year ago, every Thursday. I have got to say every single visit has been nothing short of perfection. My client so looks forward to her Thursday visit, as do I. Firstly the food...wow, every single week without fail the food has been outstanding. Piping hot, fresh, lovely delicate batter, such a generous potion. Absolutely stunning. The service...I can't praise the staff enough. Every single one of them. Same smiley faces every week. Whitbys definitely know how to keep their staff! Everyone is so friendly, they cannot do enough for you the rapport they have with the more older client is so heartwarming. I can't list names as they are all equally as fabulous. The service runs like clockwork, I don't know how they do it, but everything is just so organised. It's lovely to see people laughing and smiling and staff that are actually genuinely enjoying their job! Prices are great for the level of service and the quality of food you recieve.   “Lovely clean restaurant with cool decor, great fish and chips cooked in beef dripping! Great sized portions of tartar, gravy and mushy peas too. Great puds too! Our server Roxy was absolutely lovely, had a great attitude and was very accommodating for us. Parking here was great too.”

  “Visited Whitby’s Fish & Chip Restaurant and overall had a really good experience. The highlight for me was definitely the fish and chips, absolutely amazing. The fish was fresh, perfectly cooked with a light, crispy batter, and the chips were proper chunky and full of flavour. You can tell they take pride in what they serve. Service was okay – nothing bad, but nothing that really stood out either. Desserts were decent as well, but didn’t quite match the standard of the main dish. That being said, the quality of the fish and chips alone is enough to bring me back again. If you’re a fan of proper traditional fish and chips, this place is definitely worth a visit. Would happily return again just for that fish 🔥”

  “Can't beat some fish and chips! Always lovely tender fish and batter from here and the chips are fresh and really tasty. Averagely priced and a nice place for dinner 😎💯 Staff are friendly and never wait long for your food”

  “Great chippy, cooked in beef dripping, the only way in my opinion. Fish was well cooked as was the chips. The young lady who brought our food was happy and pleasant, unlike the lady who showed us to the table who needs a lesson in smiling. One little gripe,is the price of soft drinks £4.15 for a regular,but overall experience was good.”

  “One of the best fisheries so far. We compared this one with Wheterby Whaler, Murgatroyds etc. Never had such a delicate and tasty batter. Prawn coctail is a winner too! Very busy for a reason so book your in advance.”

  “Been meaning to visit for a few years as we pass this place most days however finally managed to yesterday and wow it was amazing! Yes, it's a bit pricey - just over £70 for three of us, but it really is worth it. The food is fresh and the batter is sublime, the curry sauce is homemade and the peas were fab. The staff were really friendly and welcoming, thank you!”

  “A friend of mine recommended this place & thought to give it a try… went for a Friday lunch so restaurant was relatively busy, I was sat on a corner table straight away & given the menu, the polite waitress took my drink & food order within 3 minutes & the Cod & chips with the Salt & Pepper calamari was on my table 8 minutes later! Excellent cod & batter, the curry sauce was delicious & the calamari was nice & crunchy… overall excellent food & service, 100% recommended if you’re in the area & worth driving for if you’re not… they do have a takeaway too if you’re in a rush… 👌”

  “Another fantastic experience at Whitby’s Doncaster today! The restaurant was busy but we were seated straight away and served very quickly. All of food was amazing - generous portions and cooked to perfection. We highly recommend the halloumi, grilled salmon, steak pie, lemon cheesecake.. well basically everything! The quality of the food here is always excellent and very reasonably priced. The restaurant is spacious, clean and comfortable with great decor and a nice relaxed atmosphere. Efficient and friendly service from the whole team. Special mention and thanks to Roxy who was our server tonight. She expertly took our orders and advised us on menu options to ensure we got everything we wanted and the best experience possible. She was friendly, thoughtful and made us laugh, checked we were ok at regular intervals but never intrusive. She was amazing from start to finish and really added to the enjoyment of our evening. Thank you so much Roxy!”
