About Nando's Doncaster

Nando's Doncaster is a restaurant in Doncaster on Herten Way, next to Tenpin and Vue. The menu centres on PERi-PERi chicken, with the Fino Pitta and the Sunset Burger, which uses a chicken breast, as the two named mains. Guests set their own heat on the PERi-ometer spice scale, and the sauces come in many varieties with bottomless refills. Salads and plant-based options sit alongside the chicken for those who want something different. Sharing platters are served at the table, which suits a group ordering together. Ordering is self-service. A fizzy drink machine pours Coca Cola and Dr Pepper, and drinks are bottomless.

Customer Review Summary

Chicken is the main draw, with diners praising wings with two sides, thighs, peri chips and garlic bread, and one noting the many sauce options and food that tasted fresh and not dry. Staff are often called welcoming, helpful and polite. Complaints centre on uneven execution. One reviewer found the chicken breast sunset burger's bun more like an over toasted muffin with stalky lettuce, another had overcooked chicken livers and halloumi sticks burnt to a crisp, and the Dr Pepper on the fizzy drink machine rarely works and needs resetting. One visit brought a single working server, meals left sitting under the lights and a sharing platter served without plates. A returning visitor misses dropped dishes like the salted caramel brownie, and prices are called on the high side. After the burger complaint, staff offered free food, which the diner declined.

“Been to this Nandos a few times, always get good food and good service. Staff attentive and polite. The only thing I'd ask is that they permanently fix or just remove the Dr Pepper from the fizzy drink machine. It rarely works as staff have to keep 'resetting' it. Fix it or get rid.”

“The service is diabolical! They had 14 meals just sitting under the lights not being served. Only 1 working server for a full restaurant. When questioned about leaving meals out for so long they basically said so what! This is not only bad service but it potentially a health issue! Totally unacceptable! A little extra info. When we finally got our meal , a sharing platter, it was served with no plates! They said they didn't have any clean ones!! I would laugh if it wasn't so unbelievably bad!”

“Extremely disappointed with the quality of food received today. The chicken livers were over cooked and over seasoned, halloumi sticks were burnt to a crisp, the Coca Cola was also flat from the machine and they had no straws :( Staff were lovely but the food I would say was diabolical!! 2/10”

“Absolutely shocking service by Doncaster Nando’s. Placed an order and once we opened it there was a huge blonde/grey looking hair in the food. I called the branch straight away and as soon as I said the hair colour it was like they knew straight away. A lad called Harvey spoke to me and he was fine on the phone and promised me a gift card to cover most of the order. Since this which was around 11 days ago I’ve heard nothing, I’ve just called the store and a girl answered and basically didn’t give me an answer and seemed to be going back on their word. Absolutely useless and disgusting by Nando’s. This is the second time we have had bad service from this same restaurant, the first time the chicken was undercooked in store and we didn’t even get an apology. Avoid this place unless you want to eat chicken that’s been in the bin.”

“Sam was a brilliant server and made us feel very welcome and looked after. I had the wings with two sides, very nicely cooked, props to the kitchen staff. My mum and dad enjoyed their meals as well. Will definitely be coming back and 100% recommend to anyone thinking if coming. 😎”
